That's not oil production, silly. That chart is about oil imports. It says that in June of '06 the US imported 9,000 more barrels from Iraq than in June of '05, but it also shows that the US imported 49,000 less barrels in June of '06 than in May of '06. It says absolutely nothing about the amount of oil produced from Iraqi wells, but it does say that oil imports from Iraq have been darn low for the duration of 2005 and 2006, pretty consistently low. I mean, for the huge supply of oil under Iraq, we've only imported about twice as much from there as we have from the UK (not a country with large natural oil reserves). You need to find another source if you actually want to see how oil production has been damaged since the beginning of the Iraq war in 2003.

Oil production in Iraq is doing fine despite terrorists & leftists efforts to make us believe otherwise. Actual figures are here:
http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/ipsr/t11a.xls
Whether it's above or below prewar levels is not really significant but a quick glance at the figures suggests it's about the same, maybe a little down at the moment, but it changes every month based on lots of complex factors.
SHHH don't tell the leftys or the media, they will find something else to lie about! Nobody expected Iraq to be a walk in the park. Why do you think GW Bush decided not to take out Saddam? Why did Clinton let things get worse for 8 years? The left said that the Iraq war was all about oil (it was about oil, but not ONLY about oil) then they changed their tune and said that oil production was down & would stay that way. For sure, terrorists are targeting the oil production & transport facilities there because that gets headlines and makes things difficult, but Iraq is NOT the failure the left wishes for. Of course they WANT the US to fail so they can gain power in upcoming elections. NBC is running a series called "HOW SAFE ARE WE" so I think I'll answer THAT question too. During the Clinton administration terrorists hit us where they wanted, when they wanted and little was done about it. Since 9/11 terrorists have been talking about all the attacks they were going to launch on us here at home and how they would be even bigger than 9/11. How many attacks have there been? ZERO, despite the left's best efforts to make sure terrorists are NOT imprisoned, terrorist communications are NOT monitored and terrorist funding is not tracked & disrupted. The left is DYING for a successful attack against the US before the next elections.
I note in one of your answers one finds the usual loony lying lefty loser lie that Bush is "pumping them dry & stealing their oil". Bush gets NOTHING from the oil that is extracted in Iraq. The oil business in Iraq provides money for the Iraqi people, instead of Saddam Hussein and his terrorist buddies.

Iraq increased it oil production from june/05 to June 06. Which is rather misleading.
Compared to 2001 (last year of production), oil production in Iraq is still down over 85%.
When the numbers are as low (production) as they are now, it does not take much to show an improvement, even a substantial improvement.
Imagine that last year, you earned $100 per month.
This year, in January you earned $1.00.
In February you earned $2.00
By the Bush "accounting" method, your income is up 100% from the previous month. Perfectly true, but perfectly irrelevant if you want to compare your personal economy to last year.

I wasn't aware of that.
The thing I keep remembering was the congressional debates in 2003 about going to war in Iraq where the republicans kept saying the war would pay for itself with Iraqi oil = BOLOGNA

He woke up this morning.
That's the only reality the libs need to blame Bush for anything.
Hey BeachBum, you do realize we need to have a government established there before we can set up an agreement to pay back the US for war costs. Don't you??
