Converting fractions to decimals is simple. You divide the numerator by the denominator.
Once you have the decimal equivalent, you multiply by 100 to get the %.
7/8 = 0.875 = 87.5%
- 5/2 = -2.5
39/50 = 0.78
1/6 = 0.16
Converting decimals to fractions is simple if you remember what
the decimal actually means.
example:
-1.3 is another way of writing -1 and 3/10
Convert -1 3/10 to an improper fraction:
-13/10
125 is a whole number
1/12 = 0.083 0.083 x 100 = 8.3%
5/6 = 0.83 0.83 x 100 = 83%
3/11 = 0.27 0.27 x 100 = 27%
To get a percent back to it's fraction, divide by 100:
6%/100 = 6/100 Reduce to 3/50
(Don't worry about the % sign, it is dimensionless).
37.5%/100 = 0.375 = 375/1000 Reduce to 3/8
17%/100 = 17/100
I hope this has helped you understand. Here is how a series looks for a % to a fraction and back:
5% --> 5/100 --> 1/20
1/20 --> 0.05 --> 5%

to convert fractions to decimals, simply divide the numerator by the denominator . . so for #1 . . do 7 divided by 8 . . and your answer is 0.875 . . so the same for #2, 3, and 4
to convert decimals to fractions . . for -1.3 . . -1 will remain a whole number . . but you put the decimal part over it's place value . . the 3 is in the tenths place . . . so the fraction is -1 and 3/10 . . . for #6, to make a whole number a fraction, simply put the number over 1 . . so the fraction will be 125/1 . . .
to write fractions as percents . . follow the same process as changing a fraction to a decimal, then multiply by 100 . . . so for #7 . . do 1 divided by 12 . . then multiply times 100 . . . so 1 / 12 = 0.083333 then x 100 = 8.33% . . do the same for #8 and 9 . .
to write a percent as a fraction . . take the number and divide by 100 . . then follow the same process as changing a decimal to a fraction . . . so for #10 . . do 6 divided by 100 . . 6 / 100 = 0.06 . . the 6 is in the hundredths place . . so to write this as a fraction, it would be 6/100 . . then simplify . . divide both the numerator and the denominator by the greatest common factor, in this case it is 2 . . 6 divided by 2 = 3 and 100 divided by 2 = 50 . . so your answer is 3/50 . . . do the same for #11 and 12 . . . hope this helps . .

Okay..1. 1/8 is 0.125, so 7/8 would be 7 x 0.125 = 0.875
2. - 5/2 = - 2.50
3. 39/50 = 0.78
4. 1/6 = 0.166666666666666....
5. - 1.3 = - 1 3/10
6. 125 = 125 / 1
7. 1/12 = 0.083333 , X 100 = 8 .3 %
8. 5/6 = 0.833333 , X 100 = 83.3 %
9. 3/11 = 0.027 , X 100 = 2.7 %
10. 6 % = 6 / 100 = 3 / 50
11. 37.5 % = 375/1000 = 75 / 200 = 3 / 8
12. 17 % = 17 / 100

The formula for converting to decimals, is in the fraction it self. The slash is the same as the divided by symbol.
Divide the 1st number by the 2nd.
7/8 = 7 divided by 8 = 0.875
1/2 = 1 divided by 2 = 0.5
5/2 = 5 divided by 2 = 2.5

Ebonee & nammy give the best detail & instruction. The main point is:
Converting fractions to decimals is simple. You divide the numerator by the denominator.
Once you have the decimal equivalent, you multiply by 100 to get the %.
Now the best way to approch this is to find fractions & persentages that you use in everyday life and work those to keep in your head as examples. For instance 1/2 = .5 =50%, 1/3 = .33 = 33%, 3/5 = .6 = 60%, knowing these will give you a sense of what is greater & lesser as well as cement the solution process in your brain.
