It seems likely. I have a Canon digital camera that I sometimes use as a web cam.

You might need a firewire connection or other high-speed connection, rather than a USB port, which can't handle the bandwidth. The manual that came with your digital camera should have a section that describes whether you can use it as a web cam, and also would tell you what cables you need, how to plug it in to your computer, and so on.

I know -- you really didn't want to read that manual with its tiny print, but that's where you'll get the definitive information about your camera.

Ya, Quite possible
What ever one thinks for computer, some big brother has already decided that. So just find the tools and documentation on net for your digicam and you will find how to do it.
For that matter i believe your manual (which came along with digi cam ) too will furnish you details on how to use it the way you are looking for.

Best of Luck
