Life is the event. Death is the end of the event. Do you not consider the end of an event to be a part of the event? When you go to the movies, do you leave before the final scenes because they are not a part of the movie?
Philosophically speaking, if you believe in a life after this one, then most certainly, death is its own event as it marks the point at which you cross from one life to the other.
Good luck!

Death is an end and a beginning. Something that happens is an event. You do not need to experience it for an event to take place.

When a family member dies, other relatives make more of an effort to come to the funeral, and see other family members they may not have seen for years. Though the occasion maybe a sad one, seeing old friends and loved ones not seen in years lightens the day, and makes it an event to remember.
Also there are some people that believe that the dead have gone to a better place, and are safe from the trials and tribulations of living therefore they celebrate escaping from life's cares.

death is a natural process not an event! Events can be told or explained not just going through- which is what death is. Death is putting on breaks/dead is when everything stops!

Death is the last great stage of life. True, you won't get a good look at it, but your friends, and enemies will get a good seat for it.
Death is catigorized, as the last experience the body goes through, unless you consider religion, where the soul goes on, with your image on it....personally, I can't imagine the last view on earth, being your appearance in heaven....who wants to look 99 in heaven?
I'd consider it an event, because, after all, you're taking part in it....I don't know many who skip out on their own funeral, even for the amusement of faking one's death....but it is the inevitable point that we all finish at....right before feeding the worms, biting the big one, or, turn me over, and park the bike....i'm checking out. Taking a nap, or most of all, dead as a doornail.
As they say, you can spend 5 minutes getting your affairs in order....or the rest of your life....after that, it won't matter much.

Death is the "event" of moving from a certain phase of life to another.

If our consciousness continues, maybe it is a very big event!!
It is possibly a "passing on"
as they refer to it.
A passing over...
Who knows? Maybe each event we experience is not something that can be reported to the last place we "visited."

You may not live to be dead, if that makes sense, but you can sure experience death.

Technically it's the last event we participate in. We do it for just a second when our heart stops.
