Mongoose was good until they started selling at wal mart. Unfortunately with this move they had to take drastic cost cutting measures to meet wal marts price points, drastic cost cutting means making crap. At first they tried to keep two lines, the high end or good bikes at shops, and the crap at the department stores. Since people who ride quality don't want others to confuse their bike with the crap bikes at wal mart they stopped buying them all together. All they have left is junk, sorry!

no.... well if you just want to role then maby, but if you want to actually learn trix then you need better parts, frame and such. mongoose is cheaply made and is more of a lil kidz bike now.. there not built strong enough to take the abuse of street or park. there is no ""best bike"" or company. just personal preference.. go to """danscomp.com"""" they will have everything you need and more. tells the weight,, size, and dimension or the frames and parts. lets you know what parts are better for diffrent riding styles.. but money may be an issue. but in the long run it is worth it. you can spend like 150$$$ on a bike from some shopping store and feel good cause you got a "nice" bike for cheep but you will watch it fall apart right in front of you.. or you can invest into it and have it last years.. mine was almost 1,600$$ but i have had it for a few years.. and with that remember to maintain everything if it dosent ride right, then take the time to go over it or take it to s shop.. but dont let it go or you will be walking... hope this will help and have fun killin it on your bike

Hey the Mongoose has been in the top five since I was 15 and I'm 38 now. They are light, well built, and priced well I bought one for my son when he turned 13 he still has it at 17 but doesn't ride it anymore. Go for it!

Yes it is a very good bike. Its one of the best out on the market today.

no its a cheap Kmart type bike,get a bike shop bike,like a Trek,in the past gooses were ok but now just chinese crap
