Say like a pot roast...I put it a large zip lock baggie with my marinade..(teriyaki sauce, salt, pepper, garlic) seal tight and put in the sink filled with lukewarm water. Get as much air out of the bag as possible so it doesn't float. Also the salt in the marinade acts as a natural de-icer. Works on sidewalks & work on meat!

I use the defrost button on the microwave. I never used to, but then I actually did it the right way, the way you are directed to, and it works very well.

Microwave on defrost setting (usually three) and check every few minutes depending on size/kind of meat.

The safest and best way is to thaw it out in the refrigerater. It takes longer but it is the safest. The fastest way is to thaw it in the microwave. You should not thaw it out on the counter at room temp., you are asking for bacteria contamination that can make you sick.

I put warm water in the sink and mix salt in it then add the meat. make sure you watch the water temp so it's not to hot but if it's to cold the meat will turn the water colder.
