Well I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled and the procedure took about an hour. After it was over it took me almost another hour to be able to walk out the door because the gas &shot hadn't worn off yet (you will need someone to drive you home). I remember when I woke up from having the procedure done and my emotions were all out of wack....I was laughing and crying all at the same time for no reason....that was strange but after that hour I was back to ME again! My gum took about 2.5 weeks to fully heal up! Just a tip...If you are having wisdom teeth removed be very careful that you don't get 'dry socket'. To prevent yourself from getting it you have to make sure you don't drink through straws, chew gum,or constantly swallow saliva, until your mouth is fully healed. What happens when a tooth is pulled is you naturally form a nice big blood clot and that's a great thing...you want that clot to be there because it won't let bacteria in the 'now vacant spot' in your mouth...basically it protects that area. If it is dislodged then you will have major pain and will have to get that area 'packed' by this I mean, you will have to go back to the surgeon for them to jam a thin strand of 'paper with medicine on it' down in to your gum....believe me.....It hurts like a witch with a capital and bolded B. Just remember.... no straws,no gum, no excessive swallowing and you will be fine! Good luck!
