If by "popular" you mean the most passengers use it, then it's JFK.

And to the person who said that Reagan National Airport in DC is the most popular airport in the country "because it's huge": Actually for a significant airport, it's quite small. I fly on average 2-3 times a month and have been to dozens of (over 100) airports in the US and world. And I'm from DC originally so I fly there a lot. Reagan National is the smallest of the 3 airports in the DC area. And according to the FAA, it's the 29th busiest airport in the United States. That said, I always try and fly into that airport because it's by far the most convienient way to get into DC. But it's absolutely not the biggest.

JFK is the busiest. I don't think that makes it popular though, that only makes it big. The airport I like the most in Colorado (I haven't seen them all) is Grand Junction, CO for pilots and Denver if you are in the military because the USO is there.

LaGuardia in NYC.

FYI: Most popular in the USA would be Reagan National Airport in Washington D.C. because it's huge.
