Go to this link: http://www.goodells.net/dellrestore/fixes.htm

Remember that if you do a system restore (Ctrl + F11) when you see the Dell logo on bootup, that you will erase EVERYTHING on your computer.

You do have an option of 'restoring to an earlier date' but I wouldn't use it for more than 24 hours. You can try it - the worst thing is that putting the XP Pro version on it - really messed it up.... worst case scenario is that it won't work. You can access the XP system restore by going to Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Restore

Remember that Option 1 will clean your disk and over-write with what was Originally on your computer.

Option 2 will try a "go back to yesterday or whenever" which works well - but not sure if it will work because you did such a big change with installing a different OS. Again, the worse case scenario - is that it will say "could not perform system restore".

Before you do either, you should tinker with the OS you put on (if it wasn't bootlegged because it won't work right). Do it when you're not tired and you feel like working on your computer.
