The £1,000,000,000 question. I was watching a comedian on Paramount comedy years ago and he were asking the same thing. It was hilarious.
Unfortunately he didn't quite manage to get an answer to the question. He only got to the conclusion that it was after saying I love you. 'I love you *parp*. Charming indeed. Well it were something along those lines anyway.
If you are just in the 'courting' stages of the relationship then I wouldn't do it then as it will not go down well when eating popcorn in the cinemas.
I also would not do it at the 'meet the family' stage either as this is all about their first impressions of you and farting whilst turning a sausage on the BBQ with the family is what they class as 'getting off on the wrong foot'.
I'd say, if you really feel the need to let one rip in front of your partner then just make sure it is somewhere private and at a further stage of the relationship than of those mentioned.
Much love, The Good Apple xx

As the great Tommy Chong said on "Things Are Tough All Over" in his usual matteroffact way, as Cheech was tearing into him for the smell in their small dressing room, "It's not good to suppress bodily functions, man".
And basically that's true. But having been taught that it isn't "ladylike" to simply let them loose, I reached sort of a "compromise" with myself so that I don't have to supress my gas but at the same time make sure others don't hear it:
If you're in a group where people are laughing or talking loudly, the best time to do so is when they are doing so.
Or...
Raise the volume on your TV pretending that you want to hear a particular part of a show or a news report,
Or...
Put on music and raise a volume on a particular song
The point? Make sure that there are louder noises in the room to drown out the fart. If it is odorous, just pretend that you don't know what they're talking about.

I guess that would depend on what point in the relationship that you have a gas attack. Farting is a natural thing and you cannot control it. you may be able to hold it back long enough to excuse yourself from the room, but that air is going to escape!
If your partner decides that he or she doesn't want to be with you any more because you farted in front of them. Chances are that you weren't meant to be together anyway.

If you are to uncumfortable to fart in front of your partner there is a reason behind that. There is places and times where it would be concider apropriate or not. I mean at the dinner table or in bed getting comfy why would you want to but if your hanging out playing cards or vidio games feel free we are all human.

I have been married for 16 years and I still dont fart in front of him and when he farts i think he is digusting. Farts should be let out in an empty room. Nobody ever wants to hear or smell farts and if they say they do they are LIARS!!!!!

Get it out there right from the start. Well, perhaps not over dinner but certainly in the car ride home is a good place to do it. let there be no illusions at the start of a relationship and if he/she survives that and still calls you the next day. You have a good one. A keeper!

After you have had sex with a partner it is ok to fart in front of them. If you are on intimate enough terms to have sexual intercourse, you are close enough to be comfortable farting in front of each other, surely.

From the perspective of my cousin, if that's anything to go by, I would say never. Girl is 25 yrs old been dating her man for about 2 yrs. One rips out while they're wrestling around in the livingroom & she bursts out bawling like a big baby, lol. She was totally embarassed.

About the same time as when you don't care if you haven't shaved your legs, you don't want to have sex at every opportunity and you have stopped checking your mobile to see if hes texted or called...when the magic has worn off and you are so comfortable with each other you go have a poo and tell him rather than making out you never have a bowel movement...aw why does the magic wear off???
