Fried Dill Pickles:
What Do I Need? .
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/4 cup cornstarch
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup ice water
• 1 egg yolk
• 2 tablespoons dill pickle juice
• 4 cups drained dill pickle slices or equivalent amount of medium to large pickles, sliced 1/4-inch thick
• vegetable oil for frying
• a large bowl
• a wire whisk
• a deep fryer or large saucepan
• paper towels
What Do I Do?
1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Make a well in the center. All at once, add the water, egg yolk, and pickle juice. Stir the mixture with a wire whisk to make a smooth batter. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
2. In a deep fryer or large saucepan, heat at least 2 inches of oil to 375º F. In batches, dip pickle slices in the batter, lightly and evenly coating them. Without crowding, place coated slices in the hot oil. Fry until golden and crisp, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately.

You can either use a preparred mix for deep frying fish or make your own out of beer, flour, salt and pepper. Add a little beer at a time until the batter is thick enough to stick(this works great on onion rings also). pat pickle dry and dip it into the batter. Drop it into the deep fryer and fry about 1 min or until golden brown. You can use softened cream cheese as a dip/spread.

Equal parts flour and cornmeal...I think dipping the pickle chips in buttermilk works just as well as if you use an egg wash. It is best to drain and almost "dry" your pickle chips on paper towels before you begin. You can shallow or deep fry in peanut oil. No seasoning since, well, pickles already pack a punch to begin with. You can try a dipping sauce with 2 parts mayo to 1 part sour cream, chili powder and hot sauce. You can do ground black pepper here if you like. Crazy Tasty.

The easiest, and cheapest way I know to make fried pickles is:
Blot them with a paper towel
Dip them in eggs ( beat them first)
Roll them in bread crumbs ( I use italian ones for the extra seasonings)
Fry in oil or deep fryer till slightly brown

Hooters has them and they dip them into a ranch sauce with a little spicey hot sauce in them. Yummy! You would deep fry them just like Mushrooms or Zuchinni. I prefer the "wet" method. You can get a pack of deep fry that you just add cold water to and then the food. It stays on better than the "dry" batter. Mmmmmm....I like the Fry Daddy too.
