50/50. about 98% of businesses or company's WON'T congratulate for a job well done. If they do, it's a shoddy ribbon bought at a dollar store or a preprinted "award" of excellence.

I'm not sure. I do seem to feel the need of validation sometimes. I usually wish I didn't, but it seems to be a part of my makeup. I don't need to be congratulated though, just appreciated sometimes. For example, if I really worked hard to make a special dinner for my family, it's nice for someone to say it's really good or if I worked really hard all day on the house and it looks like it could be photographed for a magazine layout, it would be nice if someone noticed at that moment between walking in the door and dumping their junk everywhere. You know what I mean?

I would like to say it isn't important, but I think it is. I look for it from family and friends more than at work. When I'm congratulated at work, I'm often surprised and flattered because I don't expect it. But with friends and family, I'm definitely looking for the validation. I think its because I received praise as a kid: "GOOD JOB!" and it feels good to hear that, you know? "YOU DID IT!" and I think, yeah, I did! :)

I don't care. If I'm congratulated, good, if not, never mind, I don't live for anybody's congratulations.

I care and it sure seems like a whole lot of other people do as well, so I practice it as much as I can.

If it happens its always a nice bonus. But it isn't necessary.
