No, Some of the Christians I've met are some of the most mundane and ostentatious people, I've ever seen.

As it is a generalization, the answer would be no. Whether one spends less or more on status symbols does not depend to which religion he belongs to but on his spiritual level.
However, if one is truly practicing spirituality, then yes, the chances are higher that that person will spend less on status symbols as it will matter less to him.

Not the ones I know.
But they really need all that stuff. Jeez, you can't drive your kid to Sunday school in any old car! Jesus doesn't like you unless you're dressed to the nines. You can't invite all your Church on the Rock friends over to your house unless you have granite countertops, and a theatre room worth 10 grand. Just remeber, Jesus helps those who help themselves, and eventually you'll help yourself pay off all that debt. Really. You will.
Just kidding! I have no idea, really. I only know a few Christians, and they seem to be the ones most involved with the money flaunt, but I can't say that all Christians are the same.

No actually I think most of todays chiristians spend more on status symbols. I know the church I used to attend did. And a few in the church I attend now are bad about it as well. I think it depends on how much of a true devout christian you realy are.

Very good question.......In the framework of secular materials, I would say probably not, but for home, vehicle, etc., I think they mainly go for names they know they can trust.
In a sense those things may be status symbols to some.

Read the Bible, Son. It tells us what does it benefit man to pile up treasure on earth and lose his soul. Our rewards are in heaven. I truly have no desire to be rich or possess worldly things. I just want enough to live on. My needs are very simple and few.

Ask your priest that drives a Mercedes Benz.....
Seriously, I doubt it. Ive known more rich Christians that beleive that God blessed them with their money, and they use it to show off their nice homes, vehicles and jewlery.
