It would be nice to see what the do with it, hopefully it wouldn't be entirely filmed infront of a painting lol...

There would be so much computer animation in it, it'd probably look really good, but could never be as good as the original!

God i hope not. The world of movie making has changed too much....
It would be a disaster. They would go for bigger and flashier. Unless they seriously tried to do it more like Peter Jackson did with Lord of The Rings (that kind of style), it would be too much CGI and not enough acting, and that type of style wouldn't be the best match for the Wizard of Oz. Plus you know casting would be completley messed up. Here are some predictions for the cast: Dorothy= Paris Hilton, The Cowardly Lion= Matt Damon , Tinman= John Cena, Scarecrow= Aston Kutcher, the Wizard= John Lithgow, and the Wicked Witch= Rebecca Romain.
Now doesn't that sound just like current day Hollywood.

I think it would be a mistake even attempting to remake The Wizard of Oz, nobody could fill Judy Garlands shoes and although we have more special effects at our fingertips now it still couldn't match the original.

There was a remake of The Wizard of Oz with Michael Jackson in it before he had all the face changes - it was an all African-American cast and I think it was called "The Whizz" - it was pretty dreadful.

lol... the movie was the ****!! awesome! on one will ever compare to judy garland, roy bulger, jack haley etc etc. and the witch was so scary haha.
they did remake wizard a few times.. i mean there was "the wiz" and some ciara or brandy wizard of oz wanna-be movie.... =T i think they should just re- release the Wizard of Oz in technicolor around the world, not just at little theatres, but a huge release. :)

The Wizard of oz..freaks me out previous have self belief. i'm able to't watch it it fairly is only too creepy. King Kong is only super. no longer a huge fan of long gone with the Wind. And Casablanca is my only suited fashionable :D

Let's hope they leave this one alone. If I was to bet, they'd hire a porn star as Dorothy and a gangster rapper as the cowardly lion.
Besides, there is no one alive who could ever play Dorothy like Judy Garland did.
It's a classic that should be left alone.

they made a follow up to wizard of oz called return to oz, i think that was their way of remaking the original

I want them to do "Moby Dick"- the CGI effects on a massive whale would be awesome, or maybe Noahs Arc, like the whole world gettin flooded
