I am asking about the originals not the sequels. and also did Superman the newest one make more $$ than Pirates - Deadmans Chest? and did Cars make more $$ than any of these movies? oh i just want to know US box office figures. thanks! have fun researching this for me :)

Spider Man 2: $115.8 Mil (IMDB.com)
Pirates 1: $135.6 Mil
Pirates 2: $46.6 Mil
Box Office Gross (Domestic/Wordwide)):
Spider Man 1: $373.3 Mil/$652.1 Mil (IMDB.com)
Spider Man 2: $403.7 Mil/$801.7 Mil (IMDB.com)
Pirates 1: $305.3 Mil/$652.1 Mil (IMDB.com)
Pirates 2: $401.2 Mil/Too New.
Pirates overall will drown spiderman.
You can't judge them yet, Last play date for Spider man 2 was Nov 30 (Italy) Worldwide, so it had almost 7 months of playtime to make the worldwide gross.
However it did 114.844$ Mil on it's opening weekend which was the best ever in industry to date.
Spider man 2 beat that just barely with 115,.817$ Mil opening weekend
Pirates 2 however killed that with a 130,635$ Mil opening weekend. Which is the best in industry.
And even though Pirates 2 has been out about 2 months, it has already grossed $401 Mil US while Spidey $403 Mil and Spidey 2 $373 Mil. That's domestic.

The original Spiderman with Toby McGuire made $407.681 million at the box office and Pirates of the Carribbean made $305.413 million at the box office. Superman made $194.172 million and Pirates of the Carribbean: Dead Man's Chest made $401.818. Cars only made $239.618 million. Not as much as Pirates but more than Superman! Hope that helps!!

superman pretty much flopped at the box office and Pirates 2 made more $$ than any other movie this year.
You could find out on each movie's page on Yahoo Movies...it will say what total box office $$ was for the movie right under where it says who was in the movie

Cars: $238 million
Pirates 1: $305 million
Pirates 2: $392 million

No, Pirates of the Carribean - Deadmans Chest is now approaching the $1billion mark. I believe that is the highest grossing movie of all time.
