I saw a "Daisy Cooks!" show on PBS the other day and she put oil in the water and the rice was very fluffy and separated, but it has nothing on the web site about it. I have never done this and don't want to add too much..thanks

it pretty much depends on the type of rice. the best result is with the one with the long grain. you heat a little oil in a pan then wash a cup of rice with cold water and drain it then put it in the oil and stir . then add 2 cups of water or soup salt and pepper and bake it in the oven untill there is no more liquid and the rice is cooked. you can add chicken or vegetables to the rice before you place it in the oven

If you're cooking rice on the stove, just add a teaspoon or so of oil to the water. It helps keep the pan from boiling over, too.

I do that when cooking pasta. It keeps the starchy rice and pasta from getting too gummy and it will be a lot easier as it won't stick together. Just add about a half cup of oil to the water. That should do the trick.
