...We Love to See you Smile!!!
Ronald McDonald didn't invent McDonalds. He is, infact, a fictional mascot. The two who invented the resturant were both McDonald's: Dick and Mac McDonald. The first hamburger geared McDonalds was in San Bernadino, California. Ronald is a clown to make us smile and to entertain children. McDonald's is probably older than Burger King.

Dick & Maurice McDonald opend the first McDonald's restaurant in San Bernardino, California in 1948. Ray Kroc visited the restaurant in 1954 after the McDonald's brothers ordered a large number of Multimixers (milkshake machines). Later that year, Kroc became the exclusive franchising agent for the McDonald's brothers and opened his first McDonald's restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois the following year.

Ray Arthur Kroc (October 5, 1902 – January 14, 1984) was an American entrepreneur, most famous for founding the McDonald's Corporation in 1955, although he did not found the restaurant chain itself, which was started by Dick and Mac McDonald in 1940.
Burger King's first restaurant — originally called Insta Burger King — was opened on December 4, 1954 in Miami, Florida, USA by James McLamore and David Edgerton, who were both alumni of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. McLamore had visited the hamburger stand belonging to Dick and Mac McDonald in San Bernardino, California; being able to sense potential in their innovative assembly line-based production system, he decided to create a version of his own. Coincidentally, the first restaurant's milkshake machine was sold to them by Ray Kroc, who later bought the McDonald's restaurant chain from its founders and oversaw its worldwide expansion
