First of all, your wife should ideally wait three to six months after getting off of the pill to concieve. This is because sometimes the hormone will stay in your body for that long after you get off of the pill. Secondly, if she conceives as soon as she stops taking the pill, she may have a miscarriage due to the medicine still in her body. If she stops taking the pill now, and you use alternate contraceptives until January, you have a better chance of conceiveing. Also, the only time your wife can conceive is during ovulation. This usually takes place 14 days after the onset of a menstral cycle. Using an ovulation kit will help you to know when she is ovulating. You should have intercourse the day she starts ovulating, and continue for three days after. Good luck!

If she is going off the pill in January that only gives you two months to get pregnant to deliver before December. Most women need more time than two months to get the drugs out of their system and begin ovulating. It took me over a year after going off the pill.
Ovulation kits help. What to Expect when you are Expecting is a good book that has a chapter on preparing to get pregnant with directions on taking temperature and other items.
Maybe she should go off the pill sooner to buy you guys some more time!

Why are you waiting till January to get off the pill. Your body will need time to adjust. So you could stop the pill now and use condoms and then be ready to try around November or December that way the baby would come by September or October depending on when you get pregnant.

This is my standard answer......... go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive. My Doctor recommended it to me and after 1 year of trying I got the book. It worked the very next month. It turns out that my timing was wrong due to mis-information. I hope it helps you, too! It's not only about getting pregnant. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

I would recommend that she goes off the pill right away, and that you use other means of birth control until you want to start trying to conceive. Chances are there will be residual amounts of the active ingredients of the pill in her system, and it may take as long as six months or so for her to become after stopping the pill. She could even go off it right now, or when this month's supply is gone, and you could begin trying immediately. It takes many women's systems awhile to become free of the pill's effects, after they discontinue using it. If she is unusually fertile, you could have immediate success, but I would not count on it.
You should consult with a doctor, and also, she should begin taking pre-natal vitamin supplements to help decrease the chances of certain birth defects.
Good luck, and as I said, I would have her discontinue the pill as soon as possible, and even begin trying to conceive right away, as it usually doesn't happen right away...

the kits will tell you when she is ready but they wont help you get pregnant make sure your wife is in good heatlh and takeing prenatil pills sometimes it can take a month to get all of the birth control hormones out of your body if she has been takeing them for a long time so she might want to get off the pill sooner. and then just have sex there's really nothing more you can do sans seeing a professional which is silly if you are capable of haveing a baby on your own. so enjoy trying.

You can't really do much to get your wife pregnant pregnant right away. It is all about timing. You really only have a 24 hour window of opportunity to get pregnant each month. She will have to monitor herself so that she knows when she is ovulating. I never used one of those kits, so I couldn't tell you.
Make sure that she starts taking folic acid on a daily basis. This can help reduce the risk of certain birth defects in your baby.
I got pregnant on our first try, but that was completely unexpected.
Good luck!

You need to start charting now, this will tell you her ovulation times. The ovulation kits work, but when it get close to ovulation time she may need to take a test in the morning and in the evening so she does not miss the exact time. Good luck and happy parenting.

Well if your wife is currently taking birth control she maybe more fertile than before. The birth control control the pregnancy hormones and once you stop the hormones often come out if full force. But each woman is made differently, check with the doctor. Then practice, practice, practice. If you are not stressed or rush the process you are more likely to be successful. Good Luck!!
