You can't lose weight in a way that is both healthy and fast.
However:
Adopt a healthy diet. Cut out all sodas, even diet sodas. Drink more water and juice. Don't drink sweetened fruit juice. Eat more fruits and vegetables.
Also begin an exercise program. Try to run or use an elliptical for 30 minutes a day. As you get stronger, add time and distance, and if possible, resistance.
If you want, take some days off from running and lift weights. You'll be looking to tone, so do many reps with lighter weights. I recommend joining a health club. Most will give you one free session with a personal trainer to show you the right way and the wrong way to do things.
One thing to remember is that muscle is more dense than fat. So even if you lose inches, you may gain some weight to start - no big deal. It's better to be a little heavier but a lot healthier.

Instead of loosing the weight, tighten up your body instead.
You do this by picking up something heavy and holding it for 60 seconds, once a day, 7 days a week.
What to pick up? How about a couple of 5-gallon pails with lids?
Home Depot sells them. You can get restaurants to give them to you too. They throw them away all the time.
Put some water in each pail. Put the lids back on. Pick up the pails, HOLD them for 60 seconds. Keep your elbows bent, your knees bent, and bend over. This makes the muscles hold the weight, not your bones. Use a clock with a sweep second hand to keep track of the time.
What to make it more effective? While at Home Depot, but a concrete construction block. Set it on it's side. Holes sideways.
Wearing shoes, step up and down on the concrete block holding the pails of water. Do 5 minutes in the morning, when you wake up, 5 minutes at night, before you go to bed. Wear shoes when doing this. Concrete cuts!
Once a week, add a little more water to the pails.

I don't know you exercise or work schedules but if you are a regular 9-5 person try doing some type of aerobic exercise before work. in addition to whatever exercise you get in the evening.(Assuming you don't, and you get all your normal exercise after work)
The reason is that when you exercise it increases the metabolism. The metabolism stays at an excited rate for hours after you've finished exercising so you're burning more calories at rest (work/school).
1 more tip is to drink plenty of fluid (preferably water or non-sugared juices). Water helps stabilize glucose levels an it also flushes the body of waste while distributing the needed vitamins to cells.

hi best wishes to you both , loseing weight is very eay if you hsave your mind to it , do you have a slimmingworld near you its a great place to be around others wanting to losse weight for specail times in there life and plp in gen who want to be health , i have been amemmber now for 9 mths and have lost 3 stone , which in the first few weeks i was loseing 4 to 5 pound aweek now nearly at my goal weight iam taking things steady so it stays off . ,what it based on is red and green days no weighing , you can eat and eat , yes it s true , red day is meats fish , salads you can use a veg from your heathly meau which you are give daily without no worrys as like dairy intake , greens are pastas rice salads , which you can have alittle meat for your heathy choice you are allowed , well best of luck i want keep you hope this help , slimmingworld also has anline club to so look it up best luck for the futrue to you both bye

U know, I haven't tried it, but my mother recently told me about the cabbage diet. If u eat cabbage for a week (full 7 days), w/ some fruit as a snack (excluding bananas), u can lose up 10 pounds in 1 week. I don't know if it works, but u might want to try it. It's recommended that u shouldn't stick w/ the diet for a long time, just about a week.

Cut out alot of sugar and salt and carb intake - all these create water retention which is usually that 5-10 pounds lost quickly.
Drink alot of water also!

Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day and eat alot of salads and fruits. Stay away from bread, pasta, starch foods.
