foodnetwork.com has lots of tips and receipts. "How to Boil Water" is really good.
Little FYI on making store bought cakes mix, nix the oil and add and extra egg instead TRUST ME EVERYONE will love you and your cakes. They come out lighter and moister. I learned that tip from a pro cake maker.
Beware everyone will ask you to make them cakes
