Mango Banana Smoothie Recipe
This thick, creamy fruit smoothie not only tastes great, but is also full of antioxidants, potassium, and fiber.
Ingredients
2 bananas
1 mango
1 cup skim or soy milk
6 ice cubes
2 packets Splenda (or equivalent sweetener) OR 1 tbsp honey
Directions
Peel and chop fruit, removing seed from mango.
Pour all ingredients into blender. Mix thoroughly.
Enjoy!
HEALTHY SMOOTHIE
1 cup orange juice
1 cup frozen peaches
1 frozen banana, chunked
2 Tbs slivered toasted almonds
Add juice to electric blender, then add remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth. To toast almonds, spread in an ungreased baking pan. Place in 350 degree oven for 5 to 10 minutes or until almonds are light brown; stir once or twice to ensure even browning. Note that almonds will continue to brown slightly after removing from oven.
Enjoy your healthy smoothie recipe.

The key I've found to smoothies is to a) use low-fat or fat-free vanilla yogurt and b) canned fruit can help offset the cost, but make sure there is no sugar added (del monte makes a good one called carb counters that is packed in its own juice) and c) use some type of exract (almond, orange, etc.) this will help give the smoothie another dimension of flavor. Here's a great one if you like cherries:
- 1 cup light vanilla yogurt
- 3/4 cup fresh/frozen sweet cherries
- 1 can pears (drained, packed in water or natural juices)
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 5-6 ice cubes
