That is the same scam that used to come in the postal mail. The crooks just updated their technology hoping victims have remained stupid.
I think if you look at VIEW SOURCE for those spam messages you will find most are not really originating in Nigeria, just wherever con artists find convenient.

You'd be surprised to know that they can come from any country, even the US and Canada. In fact, most Ebay scams come from Europe.

I am just guessing. Because lwhat is illegal to do in most all countries is legal there when it comes to internet scams.
