This looks like the sort of food children would love to eat and maybe even help prepare! I have never heard of cheddar cheese soup, but maybe a cheese sause will be the same, or maybe campbells does one? And I bet you can get taco seasoning in the dried herb section.
Tortilla Stack
1 lb ground beef, lean
5 1/3 corn tortillas — cut into 6 wedges
2/3 can cheddar cheese soup, undiluted
2/3 pkg taco seasoning mix
2 med tomatoes — chopped
1/4 c sour cream
1 1/3 c lettuce — shredded
any other desired toppings
Crumble 1/4 of ground beef into bottom of slow cooker. Top with 1/4 of tortilla wedges. In a small bowl mix soup and taco mix. Spread 1/4 of soup over tortillas. Sprinkle with 1/4 of tomatoes. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used. Cover and cook on LOW 4-5 hrs. Spoon onto individual plates. Top each serving with sour cream, lettuce, etc. NOTES : Could be used for dip if tortilla wedges were left out. Use chips to dip after cooking.

What about beef stroganoff? Cut up onions and place in slow cooker with beef mince or beef cubes. Garlic. About 1 cup beef stock or 1 packet dried onion soup. Leave for about 4-6 hours, add fresh mushrooms (tinned ok). Add 1 cup or more of light sour cream and serve on rice.

Put the beef and a can or two of mushroom soup together in the cooker, season lightly with salt and pepper. Let it cook for a while (an hour or two maybe) then give it a stir to break up the beef. Serve over rice or potatoes. I do this with pot roast, too.

take the beef cubes, put in yogurt or egg and dust with flour.
Fry in oil until brown. When done; add butter and more flour to make a paste. (stir often, not too hot after adding the butter, stir often).
just add some peas, carrots, minced garlic or powdered garlic, tomatoes, salt and after that is halfway cooked, then the beef with paste into
the slow cooker and let it go for a few hours. (see booklet with cooker. add water as necessary.
add some sauteed onions too if you want (in the beginning with the other veggies).
yummy.
serve with rice.

I rarely use my oven to cook! Apart from roast dinners, which is less than fortnightly.
I do most of my cooking on the hob.
Chillis, stews, soups etc. You still have to fry things off before lumping them in the slow cooker, so defeats the object in my eyes.
But you should find any recipe will adapt. I'd flog it if I were you.

I got given a slow cooker as a wedding present four years ago. I have only used it once to this day and that was to make a stew.

you have a big problem ... the mince will disappear to nothing in a slow cooker ... you will end up with Beef Gravy...not a meal for children...Get some carrots / a few spuds / and a onion and have a stew..!

put potatoes, carrots, onions in the slow cooker, half cook, then add the mince (which is rolled in the ping pong ball size balls), gravy granuals(whatever ones you like) and cocktail sauages, cook untill meat is fully cooked, a twist on stew and it's so filling they won't want sweets straight after
