Best Seasoning For Grilled Shrimp

2016-10-18 12:51:47 · answer #2 · answered by brashears 4 · 0 0

This is the best stuff...I can't ever make enough!

New Orleans Barbecued Shrimp

1 1/2 tsp Tabasco
3 T coarse cracked pepper
1/4 cup butter
8 lg cloves of garlic minced
3 T dried rosemary
1/2 - 1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 cup (scant) olive oil
3 T worchestershire sauce

Rinse shrimp and place to dry on paper towels. Place shrimp in shallow baking pan in a single layer. Sprinkle evenly with rosemary, pepper and cayenne. In small saucepan melt butter, add oil, garlic, Worcestershire and Tabasco. Simmer 2-3 minutes. Pour over shrimp and stir well to coat. Set aside and marinate for at least an hour. Arrange the broiler rack so the shrimp will be as close as possible to the heat. Broil for 2 minutes and stir. Continue broiling and stirring at 2 minute intervals until the shrimp are a nice pink color.

I love shrimp too, Here is a simple and very tasty way to prepare them. Place these seasonings into a mixing bowl:

1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes, 1/2 tsp. oregano, 1/2 tsp. basil, 1/2 cup fresh chopped parsley, 1 clove garlic minced, olive oil for cooking to cover the bottom of the pan. Juice of one lemon.

Directions: Mix all the seasonings except the oil and lemon juice in the bowl. Add the peeled and deveined shrimp and toss gently.

Place the shrimp in the pan and toss until they curl and turn pink. Last pour the lemon juice over the shrimp and cook 1 minute more then serve right away...like they are or over pasta with some good french bread.

4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup olive oil
1/2 cup finely chopped fresh basil
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce

Combine all ingredients except shrimp in a shallow dish; mix well.
Cover and marinate shrimp 2-3 hours in the refrigerator, stirring occasionally.
Remove shrimp from marinade, reserving marinade.
Place shrimp on skewers; grill over medium-hot coals 3-4 minutes on each side, basting frequently with marinade.

Try Zatarain's Creole Seasoning... or the old standby Old Bay Seasoning.

Freshly minced garlic and some toasted paprika to give that smoky flavor.

Don't forget the clarified butter for dipping!

old bay is pretty good. I would try it in a marinade situation, some olive oil, minced garlic and old bay. Works great on the grill or a cedar plank.

Montreal Steak (Grill Mates) seasoning. I know- it's for steak, but I like it on all meats / fish. I even use it on veggies.
