You make the best friends by being yourself. True friends won't ask you to change who you are or what you feel comfortable with and will never take you for granted. They may make you a better person by their influence alone and you may find yourself changing not because they want you to but you change because of how they influence you. Stick with people who are comfortable with themselves.
It's not hard to find the people who share common interests as you casual observation can point those out. I made a few friends in high school because i saw them carrying a book i read or a shirt with a band i liked and it struck up a conversation.
When i was in high school everyone knew who i was and i could meld with any crowd and i never thought of myself as popular just laid back and accepting of people as they are. People respected me because i did my own thing and didn't really care if someone didn't like me and didn't make a big deal out of it if they didn't. having a snese of humor is key as my best friend in high school told me that was probably my secret.
Just be you and remember to have fun and enjoy your youth because the memories and friends you make now last the longest.

I think the best way to make friends is to BE a friend. Don't put people down, even if everyone else is doing it, don't gossip, don't tell on people, keep secrets if they tell you not to tell, be trustworthy. people like other people that make them feel good and feel accepted. Be accepting, friendly, understanding, just BE a friend and you will HAVE friends. Don't talk about yourself all the time, let your friends talk about themselves, after all, they want you interested in THEM. Smile at someone, say hi, give a compliment, but make it a sincere one, find something you like or admire about them and tell them. ask if they want to walk together, eat together, whatever. And don't be self-conscious, because people are so busy wondering what people think of THEM that they usually barely notice your "flaws" anyway. Just forget yourself and act friendly...... it works.

Start with a smile. Be friendly. Don't stop there. Speak. Say things like 'how's it going?' or ask 'do you have problems in this class?' or 'did you understand that assignment?' You can't MAKE friends. If someone is looking for a friend it will take off on it's own. Sometimes friends will find you and sometimes you will find friends.

I let my friends come to me,
you gotta be a friend to get friends, which is suprisisng cuz I never smile, and I havelow self esteem, so that was suprising to get people to talk to me. And I was at a school with nobody I knew or have ever seen before. Usually when you leat expect it, people will like you. And if you stand your ground, people respect you more, it's kinda awesome really.
Good Luck At High School and ,I hope you make more friends than I do! ☺☺☺

Smile at everyone. Be a good listener. Try to find something interesting in everyone you meet. Those with similar interests will soon become casual friends, and one or two will become great friends. Never consider yourself superior to anyone no matter what - everyone is different, yet everyone is equal. This is just a guideline - not gospel, but it has worked every time for me.

That's not a stupid question. Talk with peers in your classes or anywhere else in school, exchange phone numbers with peers, Talk about something you would like to do together over the weekend. You could possibly invite them over to your house and rent a movie. Hopefully this helps.

this is a hard questoin if you are going to a new school then it can be hard. you can always try asking them if you could play with them if there is a playground at your school. or you can ask them if you can borrow an eraser or just a school supply and it will just fall into place. remember be your self dont be something your not just for a friend
