I've had problems with one of my upper wisdom teeth and one of my lower wisdom teeth, so I've had them removed.
My upper tooth came through at a bad angle and was very sharp, it rubbed on the gum of my lower one, causing the lower one to become infected. I got symptoms like yours, sore throat, bad taste in mouth, swollen gums. I had to have a course of antibiotics and have the tooth scraped clean to remove the infection, and I had to sharp tooth removed. I would book an apointment with your dentist, as they can remove the tooth and/or prescribe antibiotics.

Sounds like the wisdom tooth is either infected (and infection is affecting your throat) or the tooth is impacted, which means it's thru the gum at a wrong angle. You should see a dentist or orthodontist asap. Wisdom teeth generally have to be extracted. Until you see someone...if the pain is throbbing and feels warm or hot along the cheek, swollen...try an ice pack for relief. I know ice on a tooth ache sounds crazy, but it's the infection causing the pain. Ice will take the swelling down and the cold will relieve the throbbing. I've been there...had to have all 4 wisdom teeth out, so I can understand what you're going thru. Hope my suggestions help. Also hope you feel better soon.

Okay...
what you're describing sounds like an impacted wisdom tooth. That means you've developed an infection in the tooth.
Don't waste time! Contact your doctor/dentist ASAP!
Tell him about your pain and tell him you believe you have an infection in your tooth. Tell him that the pain is so bad, that you can't afford to wait until your appointment with him to get this resolved. He should then prescribe an antibiotic for you to take, and possibly some painkillers, or at the very least, he will probably advise you take over-the-counter Motrin or Advil. If your wisdom tooth is impacted, he will not want to take a chance on removing it until after you have gotten rid of the infection, for fear of the infection spreading through your system.
If he blows you off, then you need to see another doctor immediately!
Good Luck. Hope you feel better soon~*

Relax pal! Its perfectly normal to have problems with wisdom teeth and then get them extracted in late teens or adult yrs.Wisdom teeth are just an evolutionary relic and we dont need or use them for any purpose just like the appendix, its a vestigial organ.Your doctor will extract them and you can rest easy. Its all part n parcel of entering adulthood. If you are already an adult, then you should not worry even then, most adults ,just like appendix, have it extracted by th doc.
So, relax and jam into music pal...smile and load ice creams into yr freezer by next week OK
All the best buddy!

If you can't stand the pain before your appointment go to the emergency room and they can help you. You can also try putting an ice bag on your face. I know wisdom teeth can really hurt. Also it's not bad getting them out.

The throat, gums, and tongue stuff isn't because of the wisdom tooth. You're probably infected.

You'll have to go and get it pulled. That's normal with wisdom teeth. Don't miss your appointment! In the meantime, take something for pain and get some ORAJEL. I had the same problem with three of my wisdom teeth and it's not fun. But, with one them I waited too long to take care of it and it ended up getting infected. And you really don't want that.

Your wisdom tooth is probably impacted. If your tongue is swollen, you really should go to the emergency room. That's serious! It could block off your airway. Go now!

Oh, yeah. When my Wisdom Teeth came in, I sympathized with all those crying, teething babies out there.
Try some clove oil, or "Oragel" - available at the pharmacy - for easing the pain in your gums. And good luck!
