Who was the better Dumbledore? Richard Harris (R.I.P) or Michael Gambon. Personally I thinks Gambon's predecessor was perfect Dumbledore material. Can you think of anyone who would have bettered him?

I've got to agree - Richard Harris was BORN to play Dumbledore! It's a major tragedy that he died WAY too young and not only for HP movie fans.
I believe that Michael Gambon is a good actor and is doing a fair job, but he obviously either has NO concept of Dumbledore's character or is simply trying TOO hard to play him differently than Richard Harris. BIG mistake, IMHO.
No one could do a better job than Harris in this role, but I can think of one or two who might do a better job than Gambon is currently doing, including Gambon himself IF he would keep the character in mind instead of Harris.

Richard Harris is my favorite Dumbledore, but I guess Michael Gambon is doing a pretty good job of it. We (the fans) really can't pick which actor should play which part, can we?

yeah Richard Harris wins hands down. Michael Gambon is a good actor but just not right fot the part.

Deffinately Richard Harris, Michael Gambon was ok but I still reckon Peter O'Toole should have been given the role when Harris died.

I did prefer Richard Harris, but I always think it is difficult to fill a role after someone else has set the standard.

i loved harris with his soft irish voice the tone was just right i think gambon sounds to harsh.
