lol i think people are being a bit harsh!! ultimately the important thing is that you have recognised that it is "sad jealousy". You cant help what you feel but you can help what u do with it. As long as you dont do anything about it i think it's ok. Just acknowledge that you ultimately support your friend. If people ask themselves truthfully i defy ANYONE who hasnt felt a tiny bit of jealousy at their friends sucesses. it doesnt mean you want your friends to fail it just reflects the things that are unsuccesful in your own life. So start making things happen for you in your own life! and then you wont feel jealous anymore :)

Hey Laura,

I think deep inside we as humas are all a tad bit jealous, though we dont want to beleive that it is jealousy .. I've been in that situation. But i think the problem is within. If your friend is successfull it is because they worked hard for that success. Why dont you set goals for your self, write them down. & feed ur subconsious mind with this goal. & with a little hard work & persistance you will be successful as well. this can be applied for anything. School, work, business, BF, GF . .watever ur desire.

I recommend u read this book: "Think & Grow Rich" By Napolean Hill

People guage their place in society by measure of their status.

When your friends are successful, their status goes up.

Relative to your friends, who are important benchmarks for you, your own status thus goes down.

It a way, their success has a similar effect on you as your own failure.

You can overcome this by rationally acknowledging that your personal worth, as well as your overall status in society, is the same as it always was.

You can also channel your insecurity into motivating your own success. Make it the rocket fuel beneath you, instead of a monkey on your back.

And as mentioned above, Napolean Hill's worth a look, if you're serious about making progress.

I think this is probably to do with a lack of self-belief, you feel like things don't happen to you because you don't deserve them too. Perhaps if you work on your own self-esteem you'll recognise the things that do happen to you that are good and you'll feel less envious. Sucess is such a relative thing, maybe you should also reevaluate the way you measure sucess?

properly, none of my associates has relatively had a wager to be in a position. they are in 8th grade. yet I additionally do no longer comprehend via fact all my associates are in the back of me in what I care approximately, that's enjoying song. yet those that play guitar are greater useful than me at that. yet i do no longer techniques seeing them get in a position or greater useful. in the event that they deserve it then thats what they get. yet surely whilst i think of roughly it, my buddy from Arizona is an extremely stable guitarist and he's atleast as stable as i'm a drummer. So if he's not greater in a position he's a similar.

Me definetly. Its all a part of growing up. I find my friends have all the good luck, they get boys, they are prettier and they get all the best parts in plays. But on the other hand, thats what they feel about me! Its natural to feel like people get more than you.

I think everyone has that little sense of jealousy in them when somebody does better than them. You're normal. ;)
