The best ones are both.

Primarily a youth pastor's role is a preacher, delivering the word of God to young minds.

However, people expect to be taught in fun interesting ways... which means that these youth pastors usually have to take college classes on public speaking while in ministry training. An effective speaker can cause people to feel certain emotions or put the right thoughts in their mind.

Usually the most effective ones are the ones that cause you to feel convicted, and then shower you with God's love at the end.

Youth ministers are leaders of the youth ministry. Their main duty is set a good example & lead the youth in their spiritual growths.

Youth ministers can be preachers (going places to preach) and/or speakers (giving public talks). Either one, both or none of those.

Do preachers speak? Do speakers preach? It's all in the heart. Ministers that are called to work with youth and take on that special challenge are to be applauded. It's not an easy task, this I know.

Youth ministers are preachers. That's why they are called preachers. They preach to the youth and sometimes there could be a youth service.

The Bible clearly "Defines" a Preacher, Teacher, Elder, Deacon. Call a person anything you like, that doesn't make them one.

Going to a College, does NOT make a Preacher by Man's paper degree. Man....Does NOT decide who a preacher is or is not.

Good Question.

No I am not a minister preacher or speaker .I am a lay man,but as a muslim I should give others some verses of our holy book if I know.It is our obligation to release the knowledge of some verses to others if they do not know of it or if they have a wrong interpretations.

Actually everyone is a preacher. We preach what we believe every minute of the day. Whether it is from the Bible or not. How we live preaches to every one around us.
