I have a project for english where I need to figure out what my last name means. I looked it up online but I have no leads.

On the Ancestry.com message boards is a post regarding Cwalino. The poster says that it is Polish and is related to the surname Krystek. Ancestry also states that for the one known Krystek immigrant (they only seem to look at the New York passenger lists) the place of origin was Austria. Austria owned about one third of Poland before World War 1.

You might try looking up your last name on a site which translates Polish to English, or perhaps see if there is an area in Poland which is called Cwalino.

Cwalino is from spain and it means "true warrior".
