Well, there are some reasons you could not have a period for a year.. for example , Were/Are you breastfeeding? If so, that can cause a period to stop completely for a long time. Sometimes for the entire time that you breastfeed.
Another reason is birth control. Are you on anything? Certain birth control can cause missed or even stopped periods. And different birth control can affect women differently,so even if it isn't a listed side effect doesn't mean it isn't possible.
Also, small clots are normal. You haven't had a period in a long time. As long as you are not gushing dark red blood and you are not soaking through more than 1 pad per hour , I wouldn't worry. Now, if the clots are big, or you start bleeding heavily, I would definitely call the Dr. or get to the ER.

The same happened to me and when the doctor did some blood work found out that my hormone levels were really low. It turn out that a year after having my baby I was diagnosed with Premature Menopause. Yes, some women can get menopause in their 20's or 30's as weird as it may sound. Make sure you are not one of them because if you are at the early stages of this hormonal imbalance and do get pregnant, the risk of a miscarriage is very high.

This is usually normal after pregnancy if the mother is breastfeeding her baby but to be on the safe side see your health care provider. I've heard of not having your period for up to 6-8 months but one year sounds kind of long to me.

Are you breastfeeding your baby??? I didn't get my period until after six month after the birth of my child. You should probably see a doctor just to be sure you are OK.

It all depends if you are breast feeding as well. I didnt get my period till after 6 months after my daughter when I was breast feeding. You have to go to the doctor, he/she is the only one who can tell you why.

Good Luck :-)
