You cannot copyright ideas. Copyright attaches to literary or artistic works that are set in a fixed physical, visual or audible medium.

If you want to sell an "idea," the best way to protect it is to have the proposed recipient of the idea sign a "non-disclosure" agreement before you disclose the idea to them. You should have a lawyer draw it up; Most people involved in intellectual property areas are notoriously -- I won't call them crooks, let just say they are "aggressive" -- in finding loopholes in any such agreements. In fact 99% won't even talk to you unless you have an established track record in their business.

the easiest and quickest way to leagaly copyright, before a permanent copyright..... what ever it is, write is down...put your name and date....mail it to yourself...and do not open it. The postmark will serve as proof of date.

quick and dirty way is to print out said material and then mail it to your self. Then do not open it and hold onto it, if any question arises on a later date, the said material will be post-dated and your respectice azz is covered.
