I'm 20wks pregnant and not showing much, just a small pooch. When I lay down you can really see the uterus though all the way to my belly button, but I still don't have a "pregnant" looking belly?? And from about 18wks or so I have been feeling the baby from the OUTSIDE of my tummy!!! I really have...like it's rolling around and pushing. Could that mean that there really isn't enough room for it? I am thinner around 118 when I got pregnant and 5' 6" and have a longer waist. This is my 1st pregnancy and I'm just worried, my next doc appt. is this wed. though, so I'll ask him then and see the ultrasound too!!!!! Thanks!

i didn't start showing or gaining weight with my first until i was almost 6 months preggo i just had a pudge. trust me the weight and the belly will come sooner than you think and when it does you will be miserable. (in a good way though) if you can feel the baby move then the baby is fine you also have to remember your build is tall and slender so its gonna take you a while to show and when you do start showing you will be all belly although it may not be a very big belly im quite sure everything is fine and you can't base your growth off another womans growth because everyone is different you can still talk to your doc of course if it puts your mind at ease

you don't show as much with your first baby. i was 5 months before i started showing i wight 130 and i am 5'4. but boy ween it started that was it buy 8 months i couldn't put my arms around my belly. i would talk with you doc but if you feel your baby moving everything is fine baby moving is great sign everything fine. they well tell you if something not right if your having and ultrasound wed.

i am so happy

I'm not a doctor or a nurse but I have had 2 children. I'm 5'4" and my first son was 7lb 14oz and 19" long. I had plenty of room for him. My second son was 8lb 8oz and 21" long and again, I had no problem carrying him. You'll be surprised at how your stomach will grow. The woman's body is made for having babies and as far as the movement that you're feeling, it's normal, you've never had a baby before so have nothing to compare it to. My second one took up so much room that he was pushing on my lungs at the end of the pregnancy, or at least it sure as heck felt like it!
Your very smart to ask your doc. about ANYTHING you're not sure about but I think you'll be just fine and so will your baby.

Cheers!

Your baby is more than likely fine. I am at about 25wks and I just recently started to puff out around the mid-section. For women who are in the second or third pregnancy it is easier for the uterus to stretch, because it has done it before. On the other hand for ladies like you and I this may not be the case. Your body was built to nurture and accommodate the baby that is growing inside of you, so try not to worry so much. It's a good sign that you can see and feel him/her moving around in there.

Look at other women's bellies, that may help.

When I was in high school, My science teacher Mrs. Darley got pregnant and none of us knew! She was SIX months and barely showing. We thought she just gained a tiny bit of weight in the stomach, or was bloated, and she is VERY skinny, so she's the kind of person who would immediately show if she got pregnant, but she didn't.
She told us that she had some sort of condition. Her uterus was too far back. She ended up having a healthy baby boy.

Perhaps you've got the same problem?

Ask your doctor!
