i'm serious. I've been told more than once that my intelligence was intimidating. And I must say whenever I meet a girl and I play the thug role, she tells me she loves me, whenever I am myself (educated) I get no play. I don't want to have to continue to dumb myself down just to get play, but whenver I use a word with more than three syllables I strike out. what's the freakin deal with that?

I loovve intelligent men. And words with more than three syllables - they really do it for me. :)
Maybe it's the way you come across. I think it's possible to be intelligent and yet to act a bit silly when you go out. I think girls like it when guys can let their hair down and be a bit crazy /funny. Maybe if you're talking seriously about Derrida at a bar late one night people find it too much?
Or maybe you are just going to the wrong places? try to go to places where you're more likely to meet other intelligent people. I'm at university just now and the kind of chat you get in the bar is different from what you'd get in some other places.

You shouldn't have to play the role of a thug to get a girls attention, no girls do like smart guys. But remember there is a huge difference between being a smart person and a smart ya know what. If girls feel intimidated for being around you, then just find a girl that is just as smart as you are and that way there is no room for intimatation.

I'm 17, just so you know. (18 in 5 days! :D) I would not want to date a stupid guy, obviously, but I understand how some girls are intimidated by super-smart guys (or super-smart girls, even as friends.) I believe that you should definately be yourself, even if it's a little intimidating. And if a girl can't accept you for you, then you don't need to be with her. And if someone likes you for who you aren't, then what happens when you're you?
But I've been on both sides. There was a guy who told me I used big words and I said, "Yes, I've been accused of that often." What kind of response was that? :P But I'm not going to act different like that to attract someone. (And, ugh, I'm still embarassed by that. He was a really hot guy.)
Also, there's a guy I've talked to on the internet because of an online class (I'll meet him in a few days because we're going to the same college) and I told him that I felt intimidated by his big words. But that's just the way he expresses himself. And he also said that maybe he was trying to impress or even hide behind his big words.
So, in summary, definately be who you are and tough for the rest of the people. Maybe you could just remember what level of vocabulary your audience is. I hope this helped a little!

I guess it depends on the kind of girls you are attracted to, doesn't it? One cannot generalize like this, and an intelligent person knows that. So I guess you don't have to worry about the answer to this question, do you? Also, here are a couple of things that may be causing your problem, all of them having three or more syllables:

1. Halitosis
2. flatulence
3. Erectile dysfunction

i do no longer think of that men are became off by utilising clever females. the certainty which you % it that way may be the consequence of any style of factors. a million. besides the undeniable fact that men are no longer became off by utilising intelligence they do no longer look to be lots became on by utilising it the two...exceedingly at your age whilst they do no longer look to be inevitably finding for an prolonged term mate. elegance is many cases greater considerable than intelligence. Its unhappy yet authentic. 2. e book smart females are greater in all probability to be shy and properly behaved. it relatively is via fact a want to thrill ones mothers and dads or conform to what you're "meant to do" is a variable in a majority of those traits. men discover this no longer as lots exciting. 3. The theory that men do the asking is an phantasm. men worry rejection and that they've an inclination to ask out women that they comprehend are going to declare sure. (till the girls are very beautiful and as a bring about intense call for) women who're "highway smart" comprehend this and actively flirt with men and allow their intentions be person-friendly. the guy technically is the guy who asked yet relatively it relatively is the girl who asked him by utilising letting him comprehend she enjoyed him. My suggestion is to decide for a guy you like who you think of may well be available and allow him comprehend your emotions. in spite of the fact that if he rejects you it is going to likely be stable via fact the observe gets around which you're actively interested in courting and not basically reading for all time.

It depends. If you use your inteligence to impress her and talk about it to her all the time...it might be really annoying...exspecially if shes not as smart as you. But If you are smart and very modest, it might attract her.
