The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.

The Church specifically says that homosexuals "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."

With love in Christ.

That is one possiblity. Or it could be they were sexually abused by someone of the same sex when they were young and now they believe they are gay because of it.

Satan is the Lord of Lies. He will lie to every human being in whatever ways he can to trick and deceive and pull as many from God as possible. And it looks like he is somewhat successful.
