I have seen Christian and Jewish politicans. Are there any Muslim ones? How about any other religion group (i.e. Buddhist, Native American Church, etc.)

yes they definitely should. they have enough votes to swing the election in many areas, they may even outnumber the Jewish voting base. There is no reason that they should not be carrying out strategic voting to protect their interests. It might be better for your question not to focus just on religion but on ethnic background. The blacks should be supporting politicians that serve them, and so should the Latinos and Hispanics. The East Indians, The Italians and the Chinese got the idea a long time ago. Of course the Anglos always understood about this feature of politics, which is why they like to vote for the politicians most likely to harm them.

Why not!! ..It doesn't matter if a politician is black, white, Jewish, Christian , Muslim, atheist etc etc..

America is a democracy and a diverse country and they should have the right to be elected...

There are many Muslims in the USA..and their voices should be heard just as every other groups' should be..

Now we hate him because he's Muslim? tell me this.....the fastest thanks to end all of this start certificate nonsense is for Obama to reserve Hawaii to reveal the actual certificate! anybody who needs to work out it, prepare it to them? Have him take the e book to an auditorium for a one-day public showing. Why is it that confusing? we are able to positioned a finished end to this day after today! Why gained't they? do not care if Obama is a Muslim, Catholic, Jew......he is going to modify his position on it merely once the polls are available in telling him what faith he should be. similar ingredient occurred on his stance on gays. He replaced into hostile to it....yet now that some polls advise he can get donations if he helps it he on the instantaneous differences his position. and human beings like you're suckered anytime. Oh....and they day the authorities starts messing with my huge Mac habit, you'll see McRiots erupt the country which will make the 60's riots seem as if a kindergarten wrestle.

If they are Americans, then ideally they should be. However, given the largely Christian population and the actively encouraged prejeduce against non-Christians it is unlikely that a non-Christian will be elected for any major political position any time soon.

I think that would be fair. After all, we need to have someone sensible representing Muslims. But I doubt that will happen soon with the majority being Christians. Lets hope.

yes, given they should value the "nation" above their "religion". america is liberal and multicultural. people do respect others' ethinic entitiy and faith over there but that doesnt mean people of any religious or ethinic group should pose a threat to its people else these free socities retaliate in a furious manner. the bottomline is everybody should participate in their politics with the aim to serve the american society and not to infuse religious views into them.
