The best book about the moon I've read is:
"The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" by Robert Heinlein. Brilliant novel.

Well, the movie "Moonstruck," of course. But books and stories? Hmmm. Well, there's a scene or two in "Divine Secrets of theYa-Ya Sisterhood" that involve the moon retty heavily, but I don't think I'd go so far as to call the moon a theme of that book...

Dune Trilogy- By Frank Herbert-especially the second installment
Brave New World- By Aldous Huxley. Some references are made. And it is possible that Huxley got his inspiration for the drugs in the novel from the moon goddess "Soma", in hindu mysticism.
