Wedlock? Geez are you like 80 or something?
Young girls get pregnant because of poor sex education. The Bush administration pushes abstinence only messages in the classroom that simply don't work and don't teach young people how to take precautions.
Young girls have become pregnant plenty in the past, but in the old days it was such a horrible taboo they would often be shipped off to live with distant relatives and later if they were allowed back they would pretend the new child was a sibling.
Let us not pretend this is a new problem or that it has become so much worse with this evil sinful generation. This problem has existed for years, we just hear about things more in today's society.
The only way we can solve the problem is through better sex education that teaches safer sex, as opposed to abstinence until marriage with no real sexual health advice included.

Young girls, (as young as 11-12) have been having children since before the Bible was written. It was actually customary for the young girl to be married off as soon as she started menstruating. Soon after she would be children. This usually happened at the age of 12.
Even in the past hundred years, young girls have been having babies as young as 11-12, out of wedlock. Then society frowned upon it. Parents sent the girl away to a special boarding house for unwed girls, where they stayed until after the baby was born. The girl then gave the baby up for adoption. Other times they were sent to an out of state family member, like an Aunt, to have her baby, which was adopted out.
Today, our society accepts these young girls, and their babies. Regardless if the married or not, and whether the father stuck around or not.
Celebrate the baby, love your child. Everything works out!

I'm sick of people pushing their holier than thou "you need to be married before you have children" attitudes around here. If that's what you believe and that's how you want to live your lives, fine...but don't push it on everyone else and don't look down on those of us who have or are having children before marriage. *Newsflash* It's the 2000s, welcome to them!
Is there something wrong with having kids out of "wedlock"?
How many times do I have to tell people?
I'm 26 yrs old and 8 months pregnant, and my boyfriend and I are NOT married, although we do plan to get married sometime in the near future. Regardless, a piece of paper will not change the fact that my son will grow up loved and well taken care of, he will have a wonderful life regardless if his father and I are married or not.
As long as he has a wonderful life and knows that his mommy and daddy love him to death, that's all that matters.
Now, I do see your point on young girls getting pregnant (20 and under), because they should enjoy their lives first, but as long as they're responsible and take care of their babies, who are you to tell them that it's wrong? As long as they give their children a great life, I have no problems with it, and neither should anyone else!
Heck, my mom had me when she was 17, so I wouldn't be here today if everyone went by your thinking!
People need to learn when to mind their own business, you're not here to judge, you're here to help people with their questions, and that's IT!

This is America isn't it? I got pregnant at 17 and then again at 18. I think abortion is MURDER and there was NO WAY IN HELL I would have murdered my children. Their father and I are still together4 years later. We DO plan on getting married eventually. WE're NOT on welfare and never have been. When will other people learn to mind there own business?
As far as the "Girls weren't taught about birth control" thing...Both my girls were concieved on birth control. My 2 1/2 year old was conceived on the patch and my 1 1/2 year old was conceived on the nuva ring.

this is not something new, it has been going on for decades. It is also statistically proven that it is a cycle that repeats itself. My mother had me at 19.7 (she was married though) and I had my daughter at 17 (I wasn't married, obviously too young at the time). My daughter is 15 and I PRAY she doesn't follow in my footsteps. The reason it seems like more girls are doing it is because it used to be so taboo and it seems socially acceptable now, so you're seeing it everywhere.

issues like this pass in a cycle. lots of those females probable the two grew up in families with absent fathers or distant fathers. in case you grew up a undeniable way it form of feels wide-spread to you. there is likewise the certainty that our society has replace right into a lot extra accepting of unmarried mothers. it rather is not in basic terms like the 1950's the place they shipped the "undesirable females" off to Aunt Rose's residing house to cover their shame. those days it rather is not seen shameful, yet a certainty of existence. i don't think of those females ought to be punished or dealt with badly, yet i think of they might desire to purpose to understand why some human beings disaaprove and take a examine out to set an outstanding occasion for different young women. I somewhat have a pal who have been given pregnant and had her first toddler at 19. She's now fortuitously married with yet another toddler on the way. She has a Bachelor's degree and is a in many instances super guy or woman, yet she could in no way inform you that having a toddler out of wedlock whilst nonetheless a youngster replaced into an outstanding thought. She is going out of her thank you to tell her youngers sisters and acquaintances to be careful and not get into her subject. She tells them how not hardship-free it replaced into and how ashamed she replaced into... And as for the three or 4 little ones with the aid of distinctive adult men... properly, that's a distinctive factor altogether. those females are in simple terms ignorant and trashy. Getting pregnant as quickly as with the aid of twist of destiny out of wedlock is one factor, that is seen a youthful mistake or indiscretion... getting pregnant diverse instances with the aid of distinctive adult men is in simple terms an illustration of a loss of morals.

because they are not being very well educated by their parents. Everything starts in the home. Education is so vital and so easy if you keep the communication open with your kids. You can still be open and have control at the same time.

Young girls, eh?
I'd say the guys are just as much responsible.
I think parents need to be more involved with their children, and certainly need to be open and communicative when talking about sexual education, birth control, disease awareness and prevention, ect.
It's not up to our schools, or television to teach our children, it's up parents.
