My Dish network RF remote dosent work very well. sometimes I have to push a button two or three times to get it to accept it. I've tried new batteries. My reciever is only about 20 feet down a hallway from where I usually use the remote. any suggestions?

They don't stink. They work very well. However, they are very sensitive to input level.

Often a mirror in the room/hallway is the culprit. You need to troubleshoot this with 2 people.

One sits in the normal viewing position with the remote. The other goes to the Dish receiver and makes *MINUTE* adjustments to the UHF remote antenna position... and I mean just a couple of millimeters up or down ... until the optimum position is found.

With mine, the little UHF remote antenna is almost parallel to the floor. If I put it upright, the signal reception sucks.

Play with it, you'll find the right position.
