Life is most likely meaningless. It is a random sequence of events that has, are and continue to occur. Finding meaning, what ever that may be, is a method of coping because the question can not be answered by us at this time. Some people need a resolution to questions to be able to continue living in a sane manner. Human ego also demands that we are not meaningless, when in fact we probably are. To paraphrase Aristotle, the mark of an intelligent mind is to know that you know nothing. Accept this fact, and then get on with whatever it is you're doing with your 70 or so years.

Easy.Doesn't anyone ever read a dictionary?
Life is a WORD that describes a state of functional activity perculiar to animals, plants and bacteria right up until that moment when they reach another state of DIS- functional IN- activity called DEATH.
What they do in between is usually their own business and can be described in lots of other words which can or cannot make sense to anyone else that happens to be watching or writing them.
However, in asking that question it can be presumed that the asker has altogether too much TIME on their hands and I would advise that they go out and do something with it before the period between the two states gets too short.

I actually do have the answer. This story is 100% true I promise. It was told to me on a very strange night out in Birmingham, UK. We were just about to enter a club, and we noticed a guy walking round minding his own business in a dressing gown reading a book as he was walking. Now we all thought this was strange given the fact that it was dark and he could never have been reading the book (or could he?), so we decided, thinking he was a bit unhinged to go and see if he was alright (I will admit the decision to approach him was partly due to the alcohol already consumed) . Anyway we asked him and he said he was fine, and just out for a stroll. We started talking to him and found fairly quickly that this man was incredibly erudite and well educated. We began asking him random (we thought) challenging questions. To our amazement, he answered them all. and then some. This guy knew everything. and had well reasoned arguments for every subjective question we threw at him. Needless to say, we (with our drunken logic) decided at this time that the man must in-fact be God. So we asked him the question above. And he answered. Unfortunately for reasons that would take lots of time to explain (and the fact that he told us not to) I cannot tell you the answer he gave. But, believe me It made perfect sense of everything. It was two words long. I reaally reaally wish I could tell all of you, but to be fair it would not mean anything to you all even if I did, because it is subject to change. I have never met the man or heard of him being seen since. And that is my story.
I swear on my life that this is a true story.

I'm not sure. I think the meaning of life means something different for everyone.
Some people feel giving birth is their meaning of life. While others may chose their pets.. The answer is very subjective....

What is life, and what does it mean to one person cannot be defined for all to understand. Life cannot be known, except by things that make up Life. Life cannot be lived except through things in Life. Life is like Beauty, Justice and Wisdom – an abstract reality. It is in ourselves, and it is in things around us. We all are a manifestation of Life. Life cannot have any fixed meanings for all people. It means differently for different people. What life is for me depends upon what I am. What I am again depends upon what I love, value and admire.
To me personally, Life is a passion. Life without passion means nothing – it amounts up to a zero. What I am, or what Life is for me depends upon what I feel passionate about. There are countless things in this world. There are trees, clouds, mountains, buildings and people around. They are not I, and I am not any of them unless I feel passionate about something. If I feel passionate about trees, for example, than this passion will unfold the meanings of Life as my life exclusively for myself. Then I might find that there are other people around me who share a similar passion.
We are what we love, and what we love is life for us. If love is like a pristine lake whose calm surface reflects the heavens above while it hides the mysterious depths below than passion is like a brook that comes out of this lake. This once small sparkling brook becomes a mighty river, and this mighty river then joins a vast and fathomless ocean - it becomes the ocean. But before it reaches its eventual destination, before it becomes an ocean, it passes through valleys and plains, it passes by cities and villages. And along the way it benefits all.

Good question! The meaning of life is borne of our experiences, expectations, and willingness to persue it. We create our own definitions.
