Unemployment rate is at the highest it has ever been and we have some of the highest Gas Prices...Michigan $3.29 a gal. The government takes 60% of that, State takes 6% and the Gas station takes 1% . Why doesnt the government lessen their percentage they take out if they really want to help our country? I'm sorry, I do love Bush but ever since he has been in office there has been a 240% increase in the price of gas which is still getting higher and higher.

It might help if you get your facts correct. Unemployment is at some of the lowest levels in history. It is less than 5%. Your college economics textbook defines full employment as 5% unemployment (because in a dynamic economy 5% of people are always moving, entering the job market from college, looking for a change, etc.).

The economy is booming. Unemployment is low by any standard. And, the govt. does not control the price of goods in a 'free market economy'. If you want price controls, read history about them first and the economics of them second. If your reading doesn't enlighten you on the benefits of supply and demand and free market pricing, then move to Russia which has a long history of price controls. Which is one reason why they are an economic third world country today.

Good luck.
