I am not disagreeing with Israel's right to defend herself. But I don't think it should be necessary for the United States to supply their military force for them. As far as the problem with the Islamic terrorist organizations, we need to have our own citizenry allow our military to do their job and destroy their organization and quit trying to pretend that war is a safe and civilized thing. If countries allow terrorists to operate within their boundaries, they are our enemy as well. But it is not our job to back up every country that is too weak to stand on its own. If we have enough left over after fighting our own battles, so be it. But we are strapped as it is.

The government probably wouldnt have because they would have been overthrown by muslims. Does anyone here understand what is going on here? A country is being attacked and then being criticized for fighting back instead of negotiating (caving in) to the people who attacked them. I cannot understand this. Then the U.S. is criticized because we gave them weapons. I guess we should just let them fend for themselves seeing as how the people who are attacking them are backed by Syria, Iran and every other islamic gov't in the region. People are classifying these extremists as the poor little guy and Israel as the giant. Israel is one little country COMPLETELY surrounded by other countries whose leaders want it destroyed. If we dont help them, who will?

Israel isn't defending themselves!
Hezbollah fighters kidnapped two Israeli soldiers. When Israeli soldiers went to get them, they were met with military style tactics. All the Hezbollah fighters are now accessories to the crime of kidnapping.
This wide spread fighting to keep the two kidnapped soldiers should be considered as organized crime on the part of Hezbollah. The Lebanese police didn't arrest them and didn't evacuate the citizens, these are failures on their part.
This means Israel MUST bring Hezbollah to justice or sherk their legal responsibiltiy, just as the Lebanese police sherked theirs. The wide spread fighting by Hezbollah only compounds the crime and makes it all the more important for all the Hezbollah fighters to be brought to justice. Organized crime on such a grand scale can not be ignored and must be dealt with by whatever means are required.
The Hezbollah criminals brought this on themsleves and Lebanon, the failure of the police to evacuate the citizens can not be allowed to deter Israel from holding Hezbollah to the letter of the law. The Hezbollah criminals require drastic measures because they are so well armed and willing to kill to escape justice at any cost.
If Hezbollah did this here in the US and hid in a neighborhood. They used automatic weapons and rockets with a large number of criminals involved. The US miltary would level the buildings they occupied with the Hezbollah fighters inside, just as soon as the police had our citizens evacuated.
The law is the law and criminals shouldn't be allowed to flaunt the law no matter how many are invoved nor what kind of weaponry they have at their disposal. The law is very clear on this and should be followed at all costs.

Israel Israel ,always this problem maker country.
Israel has a tradition of state terror(not just the gentle people who are getting attacked),in fact,Israel kills children daily and makes these stupid claims that those are raised as time bombs.
If islam has martyrs and virgins issues, the jews have the ideology of the chosen people which gives them the right to do anything.
America is ridiculed because of its blind support for this lawless country.
Stop support for Israel NOWWW

Why do you ask? The important thing is that it HAS lasted as one of our few great allies and the only bastion of sanity in that part of the world. They're fighting right now not only for themselves, but for us and the rest of the free world, as well. I would like to see them send a small nuke into a section of Iraq the next time that little dictator mouths off.

Actually Israel has been fighting off all the Arabs by itself for a long time. They fought off all the Arabs at once by itself in 1967 and have continued to do most of it by themself. If they have our weapons they buy them and they are by far one of our very best allies, they are better allies than most of Europe and the only decent country in the middle east.

Israel would not have latsed this long if it wasn't for the support from the US. US sends billions of dollars of aid a year to Israel. Our media is pro Israel as well as our government.
