I think that having political parties is wrong, i think it is just bringing everyone farther from peace because some people hate republicans or some people hate democrates. I think that we need to vote on the candidates veiws not whether they are republican or democratic because I know that there are people who do that.

We do not have a choice in our elections. Vote for whoever you want but when it comes down to it we will get Dem. or Rep. One or the other and I am SICK of it. Political parties nowadays are a JOKE and are taking advantage of the people who vote for them by not truly representing them. Oh yeah they can defend there platforms like crazy but I want some ACTION, not the bickering back and forth. A lot of issues are pissing the people of the U.S. and the world off right now and our politicians are doing NOTHING. They fire back and forth at each other about who's paryt is better and don't really solve any problems. Poltitcal parties also get in the way of a real person getting far up the ladder by controlling the media during the elections and telling lies about what they are going to do. They are causing a huge rift by letting these issues drag on and the entire world is mocking us and our leadership because they are doing nothing but argue with each other about things. Our politicans need a boot in the kiester to get things going and start making decisions. I don't care anymore what really happens with the issue I just want them to solve something for a change and not just argue about it. The longer issues go unresolved, the bigger the rift will get until we all reach our breaking points. I love my freedom to vote but we don't really have a choice because, until we really wan't a change, it will be a Democrat or Republican every time and we will not see any changes for the better. No I will never again vote for a member of any political party. Our country is being mocked by the entire world for our leaders ineffectiveness with handlinfg our problems. Politicans are taxing the hell out of us while not solving any issues. They need to sit down and stop bickering about whos party is better and just do something. Take illegal immigration for instance. If they would just decide on what to do and DO IT, some people would be pissed at the decision, but Americans would get over it and we could just put the issue at rest. The rift between people in this country is going to get wider and wider as long as the big issues remain unsolved until we all reach our breaking point. We as a people are being mocked by the world because of our leaders ineffectiveness. It is not just one party, it is both of them. Yeah Bush is not doing so well with our country but what are the Democrats doing to make itt better? Nothing. They bash him to know end and are only trhinking about the next election and not solving any problems either.

Republicans and Democrats are the left and right arms of the same Monster!!
There are several parties to choose from, I am a National Socialist.
There are also Green, Reform, Liberitarian, Socialist, Peace and Freedom, American Independant, Communist (to name a few),

Partisan voting is killing America. People SHOULD vote for the person that is most likely going to the better job.

Have you read the constitution lately? Freedom of speech and all that, the pursuit of happiness and such?

This also includes the forming of like minded people with titles, Republicans, Democrats and the like.

Any fallout, division, disagreement or polarization is the price we pay for a democracy.

Better to have many political parties than one Fidel Castro I think.....do you agree?

i don't have a problem with parties in general. i think the good outweighs the bad. my problem is with the 2 party system that excludes any outside parties from running for office. the dems and reps have set it up so that no one can run for national office unless they're a millionaire or must borrow so heavily from private industry or the party that they become a slave to that party.
i think the gov't needs to open up to allow any party to run and to put things on even terms so money doesn't win out every time. because we are in an age now where the candidate who spends the most money wins almost every time.

I agree completely, a person should vote for the candidate and not the party. However, most people are far too busy to inform themselves or even pay attention to the elections.

Having parties is useful so a candidate has to really stand for something and not just be wishy-washy about everything. If (s)he's GOP, then look for extreme rightwing views. If a Dem, then moderately right wing - there is no true liberal party in this country anymore, alas.

I personally believe that political parties are a great institution. It brings like minded people together and gives a mission to unite the people. Also, there is a lot of funding available for politicians who cannot get their voices heard.

They are efficient. All you have to do is look at the D or R after someone's name and you have an idea of what they stand for. This goes not only for voters but also for volunteers and contributors.
