well... 2 quick points
1. most governments that people think of as "communist" were actually dictatorships that marx would have laughed at if you told him they were communist
2. Governments that are using more of marx's true ideas, which many call "democratic socialism," like Sweden and others in Europe, are doing much better than the U.S. in many ways... much lower levels of poverty, universal health care that ranks above U.S. health care, schools that rank better than U.S. schools and about the same unemployment rate...
not exactly a failure...
go look into it... it's not that bad... we're past the red scare people... time to come out of the bomb shelters and look around...

Honestly, I agree. Ideal communism is a great concept, but it's one of those concepts that's only good on paper. I think what's happened with communism is that the government has become corrupt and done horrible things because they could. Look at Cuba, and China...prime examples. Power equals money and money equals corruption.
To correct myself, the systems DO work in China and Cuba, but fail in terms of corruption and murders. There are NO human rights. It's greed, power and corruption.

"Communism is an ideology that seeks to establish a future classless, stateless social organization based upon common ownership of the means of production and the absence of private property. It can be classified as a branch of the broader socialist movement. Communism also refers to a variety of political movements which claim the establishment of such a social organization as their ultimate goal."
You think this sounds like a good idea?
Basicaly you do everything for the government and the government passes everything out equally. Which translates tot he government skimming off the top and the people suffer. Look at Russia! It takes like a barrel full of money to buy a loaf of bread.

An incentiveless system is one bound to fail. Communism will never survive and will send a country down the road to poverty and living in the past. Innovation will evaporate, along with the will for people to achieve.
There is nothing ideal about it.

communism relies too heavily on an extremely large and powerful government, initially. the problem with establishing that power is that it is put in the hands of men who have proven throughout history to be inherently corrupt. not that man will try to be corrupt. but most often, if given the opportunity, man will lie, cheat, and steal, to consolidate power for themselves. communism failed because when men took over that powerful of a government they could not resist the temptation to keep it all for themselves. rather than serve the people as they should.
p.s. don't listen to prince anus. i know what you're saying about 'ideal' communism.

you're an idiot if you think communism is a great concept.
it works well for who? hmmmm. well, it works for bees and ants. communism even works well for the mole-rats of south africa. i think that's about as far up the food chain as communism goes.
think about it, einstein. people are people. there are always going to be lazy slobs that don't pull their weight in the system. and there are always those who work harder than others, yet see the fruits of their labor go to the lazy slobs who won't work.
well, you say, in your squeaky voice---then the lazy slobs won't get any of the food that is produced. ok---copernicus---the lazy slobs are the members of the ruling class, the politburo, the whatever.
and tell me, lets say you DID live in a country where it was a COMMUNIST rule and you had to work extra hard so that the local politburo goober could have central air in his house. yet you and your family who lived in a squalid state built apartment only have an old window fan to cool you.
how would you feel?
i can't believe how dumb some of these questions are. "Oh Gee Whiz, I LIKE communism!"
sheesh

Once I asked what was the difference between communism and capitalism. I was told that communism was man's exploitation of man, and that capitalism was just the opposite.
Communism takes altruism and there doesn't seem to be enough of that in the world.

Because in order to work, totalitarian military dictatorships were required, which of course defeated the whole purpose of whatever communism is supposed to be in the textbooks, which of course is impossible, since repressive regimes are required to enforce the tranquility that the textbooks say is required in order for true communism to exist. Confused yet?

injustice in money/power distribution
the money/power has to be spread as the work, or else injustice, violence, state terrorism, social disturbance
the state built on injustice cannot stand
why america is falling
why the world is falling
justice is equal pay for equal work
we have pay from $1 to $1 billion a fortnight's work - maximal injustice, maximal violence, escalating to extinction soon
1% get 90% of world income - do less than 1% of the work
too many legal ways for money to move from earners to nonearners

Some people generalize also that Muslim world fail against Western world, but forget colonial past of these countries and which countries had profit of this exploitation. Many democracies exist now where people dream of soviet past. That is also true.
