It's a private club that selects who will run for public office. (speaking here of the two major parties)

Could it be because America is still 75.1% white?
If a Black or a Woman or a Mexican can get the votes they would be in office.
Would you like to see a special program that would facilitate such an election?
Kinda like an affirmative action program for Presidential Candidates?
What kind of change would you like to see?
You didn't say......
Typical vague question...
No amplifying info whatsoever.
Have to guess what you might be thinking.
You want a Black President or a Mexican President or a Woman president.
Then campaign for one.

There are a few different angles to this. Maybe there are more white males registered to vote than any other race in this country, and they support each other. We are moving toward one color in this country - light brown. And pretty soon, it's not gonna matter what color the President, Governor, or Mayor is. You will just want them to represent what matters to you most once they get in office. Now think about why there has not been a female president. There are more females in this country than males and women have had the right to vote for 100 years.

Bush has appointed more Black, Women, and Hispanics
into his cabinet than any other president in the history of
the United States. So, more and more are assuming high
places in the government and no doubt will some day
become The President of the United States of America.

any citizen over the age of 35 can legally be elected president...the only reason we haven't elected a non white male is that the males are still in control of the centers of power, and until that is broken through, we will have to wiat, and as Tom Petty says "The Waiting is the hardest part." There are certainly many women and citizen of a variety of skin tones capable and worthy of the job, especially now that Bush has so lowered expectations!

The answer to this question is very simple Presidents are white males because everyone else is scared for the responsibility and afraid that they will screw up the entire world. White men don't give a **** look at Bush

because all the corporations backing the government are ran my old white males, and as long as they have the most money, give the most money to politicians it will be that way. They are too afraid of the unknown, particularly, females or different races being president, less easily controlled than a good ole boy from Texas.

Because people like to vote for Blow hards. If any Black men, Women, Hispanic would run, people might vote for them. But a majority of the US Presidents have been Blow hards, because they are surrounded by Blow Hards.
(LBJ was the biggest blow hard!)
In the words of Neil Young "Senator Obama everyone thinks he is too young...maybe Colin Powell... to right what he has done wrong. Looking for a leader, we've got to seek him out"
My guess would be Colin Powell, because he lacks a personality, he has no sense of humor, and he is uptight. (Although he said on many occasions he will not run for President)
Maybe YOU should run for an Elected office. I don't want to here "but I can't do that..." BS. Everyone can and should do it.

well, most black people are the gangster type. if you could find one that around 60-70 who was arund before all those laws that appeared in the 50's then, that would be a good option (im sayng this because iv met a few older black people, and they were actually better people than a lot of white people i know. as for mexicans, they have the large image of being drug smugglers, weaklings, or big talkers. (i dont know any, so i only say what iv seen in movies. i gotta meet one before i actually have a real opinion on them.)
