Hi! I am Scottish - but if I was English I would not want Scottish M.P's voting on English matters. But the Labour party need the Scottish Labour M.P's to push through their policies..
England cant & wont off-load Scotland - because then Scotland would become the 4th richest country in the World, as Scotland would take its oil with it.
I think the Scottish Parliament is a total waste of money. What do you think ?

Yes they should vote on english affairs as they have been voted into the westminster parliament by the people so there for they have a job to do by represtnting these voters which is voting on affaires weather english scottish or international there is scottish mps who represtent english constituents.

This question can only be solved by Scottish independence. How do you define what are English only affairs? Did they not try a similar tact with Irish MPs in the early 20th century before Eire got its independence?

No, if we don't get a say in what happens in Scotland then they shouldn't have a say in England; it's called democracy.
The reason we have the situation we have now is that half of the labour cabinet is Scotch, and they want more independence for their country but they don't want to lose their power over England. The situation is unfair and frankly disgraceful.
Personally I would favour the Scots not having their own Parliament at all and put an end to devolution.

Why not during the Thatcher years Scotland had no Tory M.P.'s yet all Scottish matters were decided in a Westminster where there was obviously a Tory majority.

at this stage - yes we should still be involved as i am not convince you can easily separate the issues. however, most of the others are right, probably the only way to resolve the issue is for us to go it alone. in terms of the scottish parliament - i do think it is important, as it is a step in the right direction.

My Yankee opinion, for what it is worth, says that they should. Britain and Scotland have been the United Kingdom for centuries, and I don't see any warrant for separate treatment of Scotland on local affairs.
