I honestly wish I had an answer to this question. The only thing I can think of is that our government officials will do whatever they want to do except during election times.

When will liberals understand that just because they think something, and keep repeating it, doesn't make it right, nor does it suddenly become the preferred course of action?

Americans who know and understand the importance of what is really happening in Iraq (not just the media driven "hate everything" negativity) - they support the war and know how critical it is, for our country and the world's future, that we win the war on terror. And putting some kind of artificial useless timetable on this and lacking the patience and fortitude to follow through on a difficult chore is NOT the way to accomplish what needs to be done...

The Iraqi's will have their country to govern and protect in due time, and they know that...Liberals keep stirring up opposition and opposing the Iraqi freedom movement, and giving support to our enemies, so it might take a litle more time than all of us want...

Liberals - they hate to take the time and effort to do anything right.. those nasty polls start staring them in the face...

That's funny, the only "Iraqi's" against us being there are the one's who are setting off bombs and killing their own people, assuming any of those doing that are even from Iraq, as most have been proven to be from surrounding countries whose leaders are scared to death that if Iraq becomes a democracy, that their own people will wan the same thing. If you'd watch something other than your anti-American liberal media, you'd know that the majority of people in Iraq absolutely love us for being there and liberating them from one of the most sadistic and ruthless men to have ever lead a group of people.

The only time I remember ever seeing a majority of Iraqi's upset with America, was when we left after Desert Storm after leading them to believe that if they fought back against Sadam and his army, we'd back them, which we didn't end up doing, leading to the executions of many Iraqi's. I'm sure the liberals would love to see us pull out again and have more Iraqi's be executed do to our lack of backing, because then they could blame that too on conservatives.

1. If we left right now, the entire country would erupt in civil war, killing many civilians, women and children.
2. The US pulled out of Viet Nam without victory, making the deaths of all the men and women in the Viet Nam war meaningless and for nothing. I hope we don't do that to the men and women who have given their lives already.
3. Most liberals are cowards. Liberal democrats are the ones who ran to Canada or bought their way out of the war in Viet Nam. I see that liberals are still cowards. Look at Bill Clinton.

Whether we should leave Iraq now depends entirely on the message that we wish to send to the bad guys. If the message is to be "If you are bad enough and persistent enough, we will bug out so that you can continue to be bad", then we should leave now. If the message is to be "If you are bad, we will pound you into the ground", then the way to convey that is to stick around and pound them into the ground. This is NOT rocket science.

We'll understand it perfectly well once it's true.

I've got news for you: wishing for something isn't the same as its being real; get out more and you'll gain a wider perspective.

When will liberals understand that they were completely ecstatic when Saddam was unseated and even more so when they were able to vote for the first time.
