I don't mean to sound unamerican. But I don't know why I should be supporting Israel on this one. They are wrong as hell. Two soldiers get kidnapped and they commence to destroying Lebanon's infrastructure. Never mind the rocket attacks. That started only after Israel bombed the airport.

most interesting that several of you suggested that I don't know anything about the conflict and then turned around and referred to Hezbollah as terrorist. I don't know who is more ignorant me or you.

Your view is too limited. Go back learn more about the history of the conflict, and all that has happened regarding Israel and Hezbollah. Then we can talk. If you think this is all about 2 kidnapped soldiers, then you really don't have an understanding for what is happening. Before you side with terrorists and terrorist sympathizers who openly advocate the destruction of an entire race of people you should consider the history, as well as both sides of the issue. Lebabnon failed to meet commitments made to the international community regarding disarming Hezbollah, so the government must share some of the burden for what is happening to their citizens. I know it easy to just think that Israel is being harsh because of all the rhetoric and negative reporting, but this conflict is just not that simple. I am not condemning your opinion, just stating that it is very one-sided.

Bapboy: Your post ignores a simple fact. It doesn't matter how the Arab world views Hezbollah. Lebanon agreed to disarm Hezbollah under UN resolution 1559. They failed to meet this commitment. Trust me though everyone in the Middle East knows that Hezbollah and Hamas are terrorist organizations.

JORPEE: This conflict has been ongoing for much longer than Bush has been in office. This is just the latest round of hositilies between the two groups. Okay you are about clueless I see that now. Lebanon has declined the ceasefire agreement brokered by the UN, and has stated they will send 15,000 troops to Southern Lebanon to quote police Hezbollah. If you are going to cite numbers and policy try to give the correct information.

$0.02: I see now, you are ignorant by choice. It was very obvious by your posting that Hezbollah is not a terrorist organization. Almost everyone in the world agrees on this fact even the UN.

I personally would never root for Lebanon. There are times for a nation to step up and say they've had enough, and that is what Israel is doing. Personally, I'd cheer them if they're successful in wiping out Hezbollah - that means less terrorists that we have to worry about.

Lebanon attacks schools, malls and innocent civilians. Israel targets military installations. If Israel just stands by and lets Lebanon "get it's way" then Israel will cease to exist. The whole Arab world is waiting to pounce on Israel, the ONLY Democracy in the Middle East. They have EVERY right to defend themselves.

Here here. And I don't see how everyone is saying its their fault for allowing Hezbollah to operate in their country. Hezbollah are not known as a terrorist organisation in the Arab world. On the contrary. They are now seen as the only voice against the injustice of the practises of a military state occupying Palestine.

Besides, WHO's going to kick them out - the Lebanese army? Can't. They've been bombed to hell too.

Your question doesn't make sense because this isn't a battle between Lebanon and Israel. It's between Hezbollah and Israel. It just happens that Hezbollah is based in Lebanon. You wouldn't say September 11th, 2001 was between the US and Saudi Arabia would you? To answer your question, it's a consentual fight between Israel and Hezbollah so I hope they both annilate each other.

GREED IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL.

1. US had ever wanted to invade Iran but do not have the resources because she is engaged in Iraq. She can only do Iran through the support of Israel troops.
2. Iran had become irritated with the escalating plot, so she started sending its resources to the Hezbolah in Lebanon through Syria, having in mind a strategy that Israeli can never help US that much if it cannot establish an artillery base in Lebanon or Syria.
3. So things evolved and Bush starting airing out some fart implying desires to disarm Iran Nukes through military means. Iran got irritated of the feelers and ordered its Hezbolah to make Israel busy. Bush was caught in surprise, he does not know what to do.
4. Eventually, as part of the UN responded ceasefire, Lebanon will send its 60,000 troops through the guidance of the Hezbolah Scouts to the South to drive away the Israili troops who entered the borders.
5. There is much speculative fear that the history of huge bombing that hapened to the American Embassy in Beirut will repeat itself in Baghdad. When it hapens, there will be by then a reason to pull out our troops (what a tragic ending).
6. After all, its all war is about investing in reason to jack-up oil price to levels above no-war production cost, then huge profits are realized as they would not be pulling down the oil price after the war.
7. The question is, who are the people engaged in war who are also in the oil industry?
8. GREED. Greed is the root of all evil.
9. What to do? "Promise me son not to do the things I have done, walk away from trouble if you can".

it's not unamerican to say that...but israel's problems have been going on far longer than just the past few months. look into the history of the country, if you're interested.

this wasn't abount 2 soldiers being kidnapped. it was about a very small incident giving them reason enough to fight back. they've probably lost thousands more civilians than have been lost in lebanon/syria.

GO ISRAEL! Lebanon has been attacking Israel for decades..this was just last straw. I say we cut Israel out of the middle east bugs bunny style and bring em over here to the US coast, build a wall around the middle east and let the middle east duke it out until they knock some sense into their heads

I don't root for Lebanon, I just feel sorry for them. They are being used by Syria and Iran to wage war on Israel. THAT is who started this whole thing.

Hey, Lebanon started the war. They were pushed into it by Iran and Syria. History should have told them that they were no match against Israel. You reap what you sew.
