Hopkins - W 47 (KO's 31) TF 53 - W pct 87% - KO pct 59% - wins over Del LaHoya, Trinidad, W. Joppy and Tarver - KO'ed by none - 50 greatest fighter of all-time.
In 2004 voted as #1 currently ranked pound 4 pound.
Very unorthodox
Monzon - W 87 (KO's 57) TF 100 - W pct 87% (discount his 9 draws and his win pct would be higher) KO pct 57% - wins over Benvenuti[2], Griffin{2}, Napoles and R. Valdez[2].
11th greatest fighter of all-time
40th greatest puncher of all-time
Ranked by me as 2nd greatest middle wt of all-time tied with Hagler.
Neither fighter was ever KO'ed. In this fight Monzon by unanimous decision just like he won twice over Rodrigo Valdez.

Carlos Monzon is a better fighter. I think Bernard Hopkins is a good fighter but I seriously question whether he is great. Only time will tell. Monzon easy he would be too classy and tough.

I believe that Monzon was a very skilled boxer with a very good jab and straight right hand. Hopkins is very tough and probably a better fighter on the inside. I rank Monzon about even with Hagler and just below Sugar Ray Robinson. I believe that Monzon would control the fight with his jab and win a comfortable decision.
