My husband and I were certain that the name Marissa would be the name we would use if we had a girl.

Then, one day I woke up and the name Olivia was the first thing that popped into my head.

I had this weird feeling that Olivia should be my daughter’s name.

I went to my husband and told him I changed my mind and when he heard the name Olivia he said he knew it was the right name too.

And ever since that has been “our” name for our baby.

How did you pick the name out for your baby?

Combination baby book/family/friends
for my first i wanted to honor both my grandmothers who's names are ANA and MARY.They are both older sounding names so I jazzed it up and named my daughter briANA MARIE(MARY).For my second I named her after her neonatal nurse ALISSA and her middle name Kiara came from a baby book. For my third I was pregnant during the summer and couldnt sleep well.I used to listen to all the children playing by my window, and would always hear them calling one boy in particular named CHRISTIAN,i used it.His middle name skyler came at the suggestion of a coworker with a son that had that name.

Well, I've already picked out the Chinese and American names of my babies before I even dated my husband. I think the hardest part of all is that you've already decided what names you want to use for your baby and suddenly, a relative takes it first. Then you'll either have to give it up or use the same name.

My husband and I want a boy and a girl and that's it. My husband's first name starts with a "J" and my name starts with a "S". Therefore, our son's name will be Jonathan and our daughter's name will be Stephanie. My husband has no choices with our babies names because we're already using his last name. I'm currently 6 months pregnant with Jonathan and we're hoping that 2-3 years later, we'll have Stephanie.

I was watching a film on the telly, can't remember what one, or what it was about for that matter! I was 7 months pregnant.

I don't usually watch through the credits of a film but for some reason I did this time, and I saw the name Connie, it seemed to stand out from the rest of the credits,

So 2 1/2 months later gave birth to the most magical baby girl and called her Conni,

I decided to drop the 'e' to make it unique to her, cos she's one of a kind xx

hope my little anecdote helped xx

We're so glad we had a boy! We couldn't think of a name for a girl that either of us liked.

Our son is now 6-weeks-old and we had his name picked out from the very start. My husband just asked me what I thought of using the name Chance and I immediately loved it. All of the men in his family have middle names that start with "L" and I just popped out with "Chance Logan". So, we now have Chance Logan!

I chose both my sons' names from a great African book, after careful thought and consideration. Remember that name goes with the child for a long time.

I was terribly obsessed with watching old reruns of the Sopranos when i was pg... and my daughters father brought up the name Adrianna (Drea DeMateo's character).

I really thought i was pg with a boy and i loved the name Hunter so i dealt with him saying Adrianna would be our girls name.

Then she was born, and it was a girl... so Adrianna it was...

Although i do wish he did not insist on using his moms name as a middle name as his last name is long too so its Adrianna Jeanette *******. Poor girl when she has to learn to write! LoL.

Wen I was pregnant with my youngest daughter, my husband and I could not agree on a name. One day he was watching Nick Jr. with my older daughter. They were watching Oswald and the baby caterpillar's name was Katrina. He loved it, told it to me, and I knew too that that was the one.

I just picked something that I liked. At first we were going to name her Lauren Beth, then we thought Caitlin was much prettier and we liked it more so we named her Caitlin
